Lou's p o v

James walked me to my door slowly, his hands in his pockets.
"Thanks for having me over tonight." I said when we stopped just outside my door.
"Anytime." He replied and went to kiss my cheek, but I turned at the last second. Cheeky;).
"Well that was a nice surprise." He half smiled. You know that adorable half smiles that guys do that just make you melt? Mmhmm. Right now. Oohhhhh.
I gazed at him, urgh he's so perfect.
"I guess this is goodbye then." He spoke with a sad tone, his smile faded a little.
"Awh I'll see you soon." I got on my tiptoes and kissed him gently.
"Not soon enough." He pulled me back in, pressing his lips against mine softly to begin with, but gradually growing more and more intense. I lent my hands on his shoulders while his hands ran through my hair, causing more butterflies to explode in my tummy. His lips were so smooth, so soft against mine. I felt his tongue run along my bottom lip slowly and...

"Can I have my best friend back please?"

Shit.
Grace.
Grace doesn't know yet.
Well, she does now.
James and I pulled away as soon as we heard her voice, he dropped his hands to my waist, but still held me close. Leaving my hands on his chest, I looked over at Grace with a shocked expression. She stood at the door with her eyebrows raised, and a hand on her hip.
"Grace!" I said nervously. She looked at me waiting for an explanation.
"She had something on her face, I was just getting it for her.." James said sneakily, he looked back at me quickly and smirked.
"Right, and that involves a side of tonsil tennis?" She snapped back. Thank god she found the humorous side of it. I smiled at graces comment and faced james again.
"I'll see you later then." I spoke, taking my hands off him.
"See you." He released my waist, and looked deeply into my eyes before walking back to his car.
As he walked away, I felt this longing to be with him in my stomach.

"Oi!" Grace called.
"Oh sorry..." I faced her again and walked inside the house, Grace closed the door behind me.
"What was that?" She said firmly.
"Yeah.. About that..."
"You and James?"
"Yes!" Grace paused and looked at me sternly. Was she mad at me?.. Just as I was about to explain, she ran up to me and hugged me.
"Finally!" She shouted.
"Hahaha! I'm so sorry I didn't tell you earlier." We released eachother. "We both just wanted to see if things worked out first."
"That's alright, I had my suspicions anyway."
"How did things go with Will?" I asked as a I got myself a drink.
"Very good actually. We sorted things out and spent the day together."
"Good!" I lied. I really think she can do better, but he's seems to make her happy 43% of the time, so I guess that's kind of okay.. Not really.
She started asking me about 'me and James', just typical questions like how long, who asked who, you get the picture.
Suddenly Steve popped round the door. They must have got home a while ago.
"I knew it! Got yourself a boyfriend have we?" He came and lent on the counter. I could feel my cheeks going red.
"Ooh you owe me a tenner by the way dad." He looked at Grace confused. "It took a week, you said a few says. Pay up!"
"Fine!" He pulled his wallet from his back pocket and gave Grace the money.
"I can't believe you betted on us." I said looking at them both, but to be honest I probably could. They are both so mischievous and sneaky, you can't really be surprised with some of the plans they have. Steve grinned and called Kate into the kitchen.
Well we might as well tell everyone now.
She glided in and stood next to her husband, saying hello to me as she did.
"What's going on in here then?" She grabbed herself a seat.
"You remember James don't you love?" Steve asked her.
"Of course! The lovely boy Lou's taken a fancy too." She grinned at me.
"Yes, well they aren't just friends anymore." She gasped and jumped up off her chair to give me a hug.
"My little girls growing up!" She jokingly whimpered.
"Hahaha, are you guys alright with this? I know I came down here to spend time with you, I don't want to offend you or anything.." I trailed off.
"Oh no no don't be silly." Kate patted my arm.
"You come down here every year Lou! Plus, we are both older now and have other things, other people, to see." Grace joined in.
"Enjoy him while you can." Steve said last.
Wait.
Enjoy him while you can..
"While I can?..." I repeated what he said. What was that supposed to mean?
"Come on Lou. You don't think it will last do you?" He said making me sound stupid.
Why was he saying this?
"..what?" I murmured. Noticing the hurt on my face, Grace whacked him and whispered something to him. Kate looked at him sternly.
"It's only because you're just here for the summer. What do you expect will happen when you need to leave? You can't exactly tell your mum and dad you have a boyfriend? Do you even know how they'd react if they knew? About you photography too, and the concert last year? They wouldn't just be furious with you, but us as well. They'd never trust us again, and you probably wouldn't be able to stay here again. I don't mean to be horrible Lou, you have to understand that. I personally think you guys are great together. It's just a shame that your parents won't understand. Just be careful." Steve finally finished.
"Don't you think I know all that? Who's the one who has had to grow up them? I hate that this is the situation, I hate it. But all the lying and hiding things, I'm pretty damn good at that now. You don't need to keep reminding me Steve, part of why I love it here is that I can forget about them, be myself. So just please, stop." I swiftly walked upstairs and threw myself on my bed.
Way to ruin a great night.

James' p o v

I kicked my shoes off when I got back in the house and wandered into the lounge in search for Brad and Tris. There they were, sharing an arm chair, and there my parents were, on the sofa. They stated at me as I walked in.
"Hello son." Dad said emotionless.
"Erm hi?" I replied.
"Sit." My mum gestured to the carpet. They weren't anymore chairs left, but I sat anyway. "Anything you want to tell us?" She inquired. I shook my head.
"James. Tell us about Lou." A smile grew on my face that I couldn't fight off.
"Well what do you want me to say?" I said scratching my neck, still smiling like an idiot.
"Is she your girlfriend?" Mum asked.
"Yes." I answered honestly.
"How long for?" Dad joined in.
"A week."
"Why didn't you tell us?" Mum again.
"We wanted to see if things worked out first."
"What's she like?" Dad again.
"Perfect." I mumbled.
"What?" Dad didn't hear me.
"Oh, gorgeous, sweet, funny, honest."
"Yeah she is quite nice, I met her on one occasion. She's the one who Tammy, Ruby, and Oscar didn't stop talking about." Mum filled dad in.
"Ooh! Oh well we are going to have to meet her properly. Invite her for dinner one day James."
"We've only been dating a week! I'm not doing that yet, you'll scare her off!" Brad and Tris giggled quietly.
"Have you even had a first date yet?" Mum said.
"Well... Not really..." I tried to think of things to do for her, but none of them ever seemed right.
"Okay well do that first, then invite her over. All good?" Mum got to her feet. I opened my mouth to answer but she cut me off. "There's only one answer to that James."
"All good..." I agreed.
Mum and dad left the room so it was just me and the boys.
"You haven't taken her on a date yet James!?" Brad said shocked.
"No, I don't know what to do! I don't want it to just be a movie, or a special dinner."
"Yeah I get you." Brad agreed while wiggling off Tris and standing up. He offered me a hand up and I took it.
"What do you guys think I should do?"
