You laughed nervously as you stepped into the freezing cold weather.
You'd layered up a little from not being used to the cold. Bill somehow seemed immune, dressed warmly in a mask covering his mouth and nose, happily stepping into the snow-covered ground.

"Come on!" he huffed as he walked.

"Slow down! I'm not used to the cold!"

"M-M-Moving around will warm ya right up. Now come on! Let's go to the park!"

Sighing, you slowly followed. It was freezing out. Plush snow covered the ground and clung to tree branches, icicles hanging off like wind chimes.
The park was filled with kids playing and wildly yelling. Snowball fights could be seen with every turn. Bill turned to look at you. His eyes were squinted and you could tell he was smiling.

He motioned you to follow him to a bench. You gave a shaky sigh from the cold as the wind nipped at your body.
The bench was even colder when you sat down so you moved closer to Bill. He moved closer as well, trying to make it better.

"I c-can't believe p-puh-people even come out huh-here anymore." You shook your head. "Me neither."

It was absolutely freezing out and it didn't seem like it would get any better. Moving around made it worse and made you feel kind of sluggish.

"Wanna guh-go and get some h-hot chocolate?"

"Maybe later."

It seemed like your blood was ice at this point. Your lids felt heavy and started to droop down a little. Shivering, you wanted to sleep. Bill was saying something that you couldn't understand but you acknowledged him anyway by giving a sort of tired hum. Sleep was slowly taking over.

You felt cold on the side of your head as it hit the back of the cold bench. A shaky breath escaped your mouth and hovered into the cold air as your legs shivered.

Bill turned around and his face turned from happiness to concern.

"You okay?"

"I'm tired, Bill."

He turned back around with his eyebrows furrowed trying to figure out what was wrong.

Quickly, your body stopped shaking and your eyes shot open. You started unzipping your jacket. His brows furrowed. "What are you doing?" You scoffed. "It's so hot! Is it hot to you!!?"

"Geez! I need to get you home!"

He stood up and put an arm under your torso and knees. He cringed as he felt your skin that was as cold as the snow outside.

------------

Warmth flooded your body as you woke up covered in blankets. Bill was sitting next to the bed staring at the floor, bouncing his leg. You took a deep breath as you reached up to rub your eyes. His head shot up as he reached over.

"You scared the hell out of me," he said as he grabbed your hand.

"Sorry. Not used to the cold."

"I can see that."

"If there's one thing I just noticed," you said while smiling.

"It's that you didn't stutter once."
