There was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it!" You shouted.
Running out of the kitchen you headed for the front door.
Your mom was busy cooking dinner in the kitchen, and in plentiful amounts because of everyone coming over.

Opening the door, you saw Bill and his family standing on the porch. His mom had a glass tray with aluminum foil wrapped on the top. It was probably a casserole. They were all dressed very nicely.
The biggest smile grew on your face as you looked down and saw Georgie holding Bill's hand.
"Hi!" He shouted as he hugged you. "Hey there," you said as you ruffled his hair. Out of their family, he was your favorite. He was the youngest, but he wasn't like other kids. He listened.

After letting them inside, you shut the door and watched them walk into the dining room. Conversation instantly filled the room as Bill's mom talked to yours.

Going back in the kitchen, you helped your mom by cleaning out the oven for the turkey.
The doorbell rang again and you sighed and went to answer it.

The door revealed Stan and Eddie's family. Eddie's mom had agreed to go even though she didn't know your family that well. They also headed to the dining room and the dining room filled with more noise.
You smiled to yourself. Never before were these many people at the house.

Before the door could close you saw another car pull up outside. The door opened and the one and only Richie stepped out with Beverly at his side.
Mike showed in his family's farm truck shortly after, along with Ben and his family to follow.

It was a house full of people. So full in fact that you had to set up a big table outside in the backyard. There were strings of lights hanging from posts and a few torches burning outside not long after.

After some more setting up, the whole table was covered with plates of food, candles, bottles of drinks, butter dishes, and many other things. You organized everyone's seats and set up the dishes and utensils.

Everyone pulled themselves towards the table and took hands. After saying grace, everyone quickly started at the food.

There was conversing all along the table. Laughter would soon follow.
"Hey Richie, pass the milk, will ya?" You asked Richie.

He grabbed it and placed it in your hands.

"Thank you," you said.

You poured yourself another glass and placed the pitcher back on the table.

"Eddie, get your elbows off the table," his mom scolded.
He took a pill out of his fanny pack and swallowed it with some water.

Bev fiddled with her thumbs a little before digging into her food. She hasn't eaten for a while, and if it was offered food she'd take it.

"Here Georgie, try this," you said handing him a small dish with some cranberry sauce and mac and cheese.
He was sitting on your right so it wasn't hard to notice the smudge of food on his face.

"There you go," you said finishing wiping his face. He smiled as you pinched his cheek.

"Bev, you should try it too," you said.

"Hmm?" She said as a piece of food fell from her mouth. Ben smiled a little and looked down.

She happily took the dish from you.

Mike loudly laughed then tried to stifle it as he looked at Richie and Georgie passed out in their chairs. Richie's head was leaned back and his mouth was halfway open.

"For my sake, deal with him," his dad said. Your mother agreed along with Bill's mom saying something about Georgie getting home.

You pushed your chair back and walked over to Richie. Standing right behind his chair you raised your hand up. It looked like you were ready to slap him, but that wasn't it.

You leaned down and squished his cheeks together. You chuckled and whispered, "Richie, you gotta wake up."

All he did was give a little hmm before half opening his eyes.

Walking over to Georgie you gave him a small shake of the shoulders. When that didn't work, you picked him up and followed Bill and his parents to their car. They opened the back door for you and you set him in his car seat.

"Happy Thanksgiving, Georgie."

Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving. I tried to do a nice update where everything was good and well, and for once it didn't take forever. I did it within an hour and a half, so that's great. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and the rest of your year.❤
