"Holy shit, what happened to you!?"
The kid just stared with droopy eyes and a bloodied face and body, kneeling in the shallow water. It didn't look like he'd respond anytime soon.
Eddie and Stan ran across the rocks to help the distressed boy up off the ground."We're going to take you to the pharmacy. Is that okay?" Stan asked.
The boy nodded.
"How are we getting him there?" Eddie questioned. Bill looked with a sense of purpose before he spoke determinedly.
"He'll ride double with me."After they hauled him over the Bill's bike and got him onto it it they rode back across town to the pharmacy. And towards creepy Mr. Keene.
~~~~~~~~
Bill, Eddie, Richie, Stan, and Ben (even though they didn't really know his name yet) were standing in an alleyway next to the pharmacy while Ben was sitting on an empty wooden crate.
"We-We're gonna r-run in an-nd get you some sup-p-plies," said Bill.
"Alright let's go," said Stan.
He Bill, and Eddie ran up the alley, their shoes slapping against the pavement."Glad I got to meet you before you died," remarked Richie.
As they approached the pharmacy they threw the front door open and scurried over the aisle with the medical supplies the second they stepped in, stumbling over each other's feet.
Eddie instantly started to grab everything he thought would help. Hydrogen peroxide, two rolls of gauze, a bag of cotton balls, and medical tape.
He turned back to Bill and Stan.
"How much do we have?"
Stan held out a few dollar bills.
"That's all we got."
"Are you kidding me?" Eddie whispered.
"Don't you have an account here?" Bill asked.
Eddie turned to face him with a strange look. "My mom finds out I bought all this stuff for myself, I'll be spending the rest of the weekend getting x-rayed."A person appeared in front of them at the end of the aisle. They looked up and saw Beverly. She quickly hid something behind her back as Eddie dropped a few supplies.
"You ok?" He asked.
She nodded. "Yeah."
"What's all that for?"
"None of your business," said Stan trying to avoid the subject.
"There's a kid out there who looks like someone killed him," said Eddie almost directly after.
"We were getting s-supplies, but we don't have enough money," Bill said lowly.
She heard conversation at the front of the store and looked up past Bill.She saw Mr. Keene saying goodbye to his daughter and came up with a good idea as he turned around.
~~~~~~~~
"I like your glasses Mr. Keene," she said. Bev was standing in front of the counter standing in front of Mr. Keene.
"I think you look just like Clark Kent."
He smiled. "Well, thank you.
"Can I try them?" She asked with a smile.
He thought. "Well, I don't see why not."
He took off his glasses and handed them to her.Taking them she felt his hand was unbelievably smooth. It felt strange.
Putting them on she felt the cold metal slide over her ears. Looking at him she turned her head slightly so he could get a good look.
"How do I look?"
He leaned on the counter.
"Well, how about that. You look just like Lois Lane."
She let out a small fake laugh and slid the glasses off. She folded them and said "here at your glasses back." Right then she pretended to hand them back but she purposely moved her hand into a small plastic rack of items, causing them to fall behind the counter.
He quickly took the glasses and put them on."Shoot, I'm sorry," she sighed.
"No worries," he said and bent over the counter to pick up items. While he was busy she turned around and looked at the boys. This was their signal so they turned and ran out the door, tripping and knocking over some racks on their way out.
She saw a pack of cigarettes on the counter and slid them into her pocket.~~~~~~~~
"No, Eddie, you have to suck the wound, then apply the bandage."
"Can you get my bifocals, they're in my second fanny pack."
Since when did you have bifocals?"
"Since when did you have a second fanny pack?"
Hearing the commotion from the alleyway you peeked down only to see your favorite Losers. And another kid that was bleeding from head to toe.
"Are you okay, that looks like it hurts?" You said while walking over.
"Oh, I just fell."
"Yeah, right into Henry Bowers."
"Richie!"
"What!? It's the truth!"
"What's your name?"
"Ben. Ben Hanscom."
"Well, nice to meet you, Ben."
He smiled.
