Davina's pov
What the hell are my parents doing here they haven't come to visit me since I got married so why now? "are you going to invite us in or just let us stand out here like street rats?" my mother asks with that stuck up scowl on her face "of course I'm just so happy to see you" I say with a fake smile as they enter the house I need to warn Kol they're here I can't have them find out about us not that I'm ashamed because I'm not it's just my parents are strict and stuck up they'd never understand our relationship or our feelings to one another and I know for a fact they'd tell Randol like the kiss up backstabbers they are.
I lead my parents to the living room "I'll make you some tea" I say as they sit down "make it a coffee for me" my father says without looking at me too busy looking at the portraits on the wall, I roll my eyes as I turn on my heel and head to the kitchen.
As I'm making their tea and coffee I send Kol a warning message telling him my parents have showed up and to be careful I don't need to say much for him to understand that this isn't good. Once the tea and coffee is made I head back to the living room and hand them their hot drinks, they don't say thank you "so what brings you two here?" I ask as I sit down on the couch opposite them "came to see how you're doing" my mother replies "after six months without any letters or a visit you decide now is the right time to see how I'm doing" I say my anger showing a little "we had to leave you to adjust to your life as a married woman your grandmother and grandfather did the same to me" my mother says "you didn't do it with David when he got married you saw him all the time" I point out "that's different he's a man you're a woman you don't get that luxury" my father says "so seeing my parents is a luxury wow what great parents you are" I say sarcastically "Davina don't be so rude apologise" my mother scolds "for what? Being right you love the bones of my brothers but when it comes to me I get nothing" I say "get nothing? Excuse you young lady we had you married to a wealthy man be grateful" my father scolds "my husband is a jackass " I say "Davina how dare you call your husband such a name" my mother says "it's true but you don't care" I say "speaking of your husband where is Randol?" my father asks "he's on a business trip he won't be back til next week" I say these five weeks have gone quickly soon that monster will be back "he's left you behind? Alone?" my father questions "he likes to keep his business and marriage life separate" I say "ah smart guy you've got yourself a keeper with him" my father praises I mentally scoff at his words Randol is not a keeper "lucky me" I say sarcastically though my parents don't notice it "so are you with child yet?" my mother asks suddenly making my eyes widen "no" I say "you've been married six months you should be with child by now" my mother says "things like that take time" I say "not with us it doesn't we're extremely fertile so you be with child unless you aren't being intimate with Randol" my mother says making me cringe it's true my mother and father are extremely fertile they conceived my oldest brother David within a few weeks of being married and they conceived my other brother Malcolm four months after David was born then mother fell pregnant again two months after Malcolm was born but she had a miscarriage which was sad so my mother and father laid off having anymore children so they could focus on my brothers but mother fell pregnant when my brothers were 3 and 4 years old and gave birth to another son they named Richard but he sadly died in childbirth much to my parents and brothers dismay, my mother fell pregnant again four years after that and I was born from what I heard my brother's were happy to have a little sister but my parents especially my father was disappointed and shocked I was a girl since they were expecting another boy as my family have a long history of having just boys so I was a surprise to everyone and not everyone was thrilled about it.
"you need to be a better wife" my father says "excuse me?" I ask "you're clearly the one not putting out so that's why you're not with child well let me tell you something young lady Randol is your husband and it's your responsibility to give him children" he says "I'm not ready for kids" I say "doesn't matter" he says "honey we only want what's best for you a child is a gift" my mother says "Randol only wants a child for the future of his business he doesn't actually like kids" I say "so what that's normal most men only have kids for business reasons" my father says "look at your brother David he's married to a beautiful woman who's given him two beautiful sons" my mother says I actually like my brothers wife she's kind unlike most in law's "your brother Malcolm and his wife Pricilla are expecting their first child together" my father says I mentally gag at the mention of Malcolm's wife Pricilla is a major bitch she's so rude and irritating how and why my brother ended up marrying her I have no idea.
"give Randol a child soon otherwise you'll end up classed as baron and that can't happen it will be bad for our family business" my father says "is that all you care about your business?" I ask "we care about you of course we're your parents after all" my mother says "you care about me enough to sell me to a man twice my age and a man I barely knew" I say "oh stop being childish get over it! " my father barks "I won't you have no idea that you sold me to a monster Randol he's not a nice person" I say "I don't care you'll just have to grow up and live with it" my father replies I clench my fists in my lap trying to control the urge to throw him across the room with my magic.
"so did you and Randol find someone to work in the stables?" my mother asks after the awkward and intense conversation about Randol and kids "yes we did Kol our stable boy is very hard working and dedicated to his job and he's great with the horses" I say "we want to meet this Kol" my father says "he's busy in the stables at the moment " I say knowing they'll just be rude to him "well we must'ne disturb him come on Arnold let's go we're supposed to meet Malcolm and Pricilla very soon for dinner" my mother says "very well we'll be on our way now we bid you goodbye Davina" my father says "we hope you're with child soon" my mother says giving me a kiss on each cheek "whatever Randol tells you to do just do it you're his wife and it's your job to make him happy not mad" my father says as they head towards the door "what about my happiness? Isn't he supposed to make me happy?" I question "no he doesn't have to make you happy marriage is all about making the man happy not the woman" my father says I mental roll my eyes at him he's such a pig just like Randol maybe that's why he had me marry him.
One day soon I'm going to leave this dreadful place with Kol in search of a new happy life with him and my parents, my brothers and Randol won't be able to stop me, I'll be far from their reach with my man.
Aren't her parents rude and unreasonable? They're not very good parents to Davina are they? Randol's dye back soon what do you think will happen? More love scenes and drama to come so stay tuned for more
