Chapter 40

Rebekah's pov

"I'm gonna catch you" I say to Emma who's laughing her head off as I chase her around the yard while her parents tend to something. "no you're not" Emma squeals running off as I get close to her making me laugh "hey" Cami says walking over to me "hi Cami I thought you weren't coming" I say remembering Klaus said she had to go out of town to visit her uncle. "I got back a day early" she says "it's good to have you here he's been stressing since he's still not found any sign of Kol" I say "I know I hear you're not taking it too well either" she says "I just feel guilty I let my brother down and we have no idea where he is now" I say folding my arms across my chest "I know  you've probably heard this already but you will find him it might not be today or tomorrow but one day you will find him and I'm sure he'll be happy to see you all" she says "somehow I doubt that Kol was so disappointed and hurt at what we did I don't think he will be happy to see us even if it has been years" I say Cami rubs my back out of comfort "I'm sure once he realizes how much you've missed him and how sorry you are that he'll be happy and will forgive you all" she says "I hope so" I say sighing as I watch Emma who's now picking up leafs and throwing them in the air.

Meanwhile with Kol and Davina

Kol's pov

"hey man" I look to see Enzo walking over to me "hey Enzo" I say as I take a swig of water from my water bottle "how's Davina?" he asks sitting next to me "she's great" I say smiling as I think of my wife "hows Bonnie and Rico?" I ask Enzo's been happily married for two years and has a one year old son. "they're good Rico's being a bit clingy with Bonnie but that's normal for his age, how's Davina doing with her pregnancy" he says "she's doing good she's almost eight months pregnant so she's getting a bit tired" I say  "ah I remember when Bonnie was eight months pregnant her bump was huge and she was cranky all the time because Rico was constantly kicking her and bouncing on her bladder on top of that she was getting really bad back pain" Enzo says with a chuckle as he takes a swig of his beer. "Davina's just tired all the time and she constantly wants to cuddle which I don't mind" I say he smiles "I'd take advantage of that because it could soon change" he says I chuckle "oh I do I don't hesitate to pull her into my arms when she wants to cuddle" I say smiling Enzo pats me on the back "she's a great girl I reckon Bonnie will like her" he says "yes we definitely have to introduce them to each other it would be great if Davina had some friends here" I say "well tell me when and we can have a family hang out just us, our wives and our babies" he says "sounds like a plan but first I have to sort this place out before my child is born I won't have my wife and child live in some lodge for the rest of our lives" I say pointing at the semi built house behind us. "tell you what leave this place to me and go spend time with your wife help her be prepared for the baby's birth" Enzo says "I want too but I must get this house done for them" I say "I know and it will get built trust me just leave it to me and I'll get this place finished for you" he says "I can't ask you to do that mate you have a wife and child to care for and tend too I don't want take you away from them because of my own desires" I say "Kol I'm going to do this because you're my friend and consider it a favour returned for saving my life all those years ago" he says memories flooding my brain from the day we met. Me and Enzo met five years ago literally two months after my parents disowned me and he was on the verge of death and his family abandoned him to die alone because they couldn't afford to cure him. Anyway when I found him I healed him with a spell that saved him and we quickly became friends helping each other survive on the streets before I had to depart as I could no longer stand to be in the same country as my traitorous siblings and he wasn't mad that I was leaving him behind I did ask him if he wanted to come with me but he declined and said it was my journey to take not his so I left not taking a second glance back but I did of course keep in touch with Enzo through letters.

"are you sure you're okay with it?" I ask not wanting to leave the half built house for him to complete himself when it's my responsibility "yes I don't mind finishing it off besides I'm not going to be doing it alone I have these guys and I'm going to call in some more" he says gesturing to the couple of men who are currently at working building the house "okay" I say "good now off you pop to your wife" he says patting my back "alrighty then tell your wife I said hi" I say standing up he nods standing up with me "I will do, tell your wife I said hi and to give you a slap if you dare attempt to come here" he says making me chuckle "okay I got the hint I'll see you later mate" I say beginning to walk off "you too mate take care of your wife" he says "I will I always do" I reply as I walk away heading back to the lodge where my beautiful wife awaits.
