Chapter 42

A few weeks later

Davina's pov

I was walking through the field behind the lodge with Maddox getting some fresh air and exercise to see if it will help lessen my back ache. I'm now eight and a half weeks pregnant and my bump is huge now, the baby is always moving about and kicking which is nice because it puts me at ease that I know my baby's okay but the downside is I'm having terrible back ache.

I smile when Maddox gently nudges me "hey" I giggle as he nudges me again "what is it with you nudging me today?" I ponder as I stroke his head. "Davina" I hear Kol call out from across the field, I turn my head his way and wave as he starts making his way over to me. "hey what's the matter?" I ask noticing a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips "I have good news" he says taking one of my hands in his "what is it?" I ask "Enzo stopped by and said the house is finished" he announces causing a smile to appear on my face "that's amazing" I say giving his hand a little squeeze "it is and we move in tomorrow" he says "why not now?" I ask "because they're moving furniture in there and decorating it so it will be all nice and done up for us" he explains "that's nice I can't wait to move in" I say smiling happy that we'll finally have our own home.

The next day

Me and Kol arrive at our new house with our luggage and Maddox in tow "oh my" I say in awe as I scan the building, it's nothing massive or over the top, it's just a small simple house. I see Enzo approach us with a smile on his face "so what do you think?" he asks "it's beautiful thank you" I say giving him a smile "well I'm glad you like it but it's all because of Kol here he planned out everything we just simply built it with his help" Enzo says I turn to look at Kol "you're incredible how did I get so lucky to have a man like you?" I ask smiling "now we both know I'm the lucky one" he says before leaning down to kiss me.

We break the kiss when Enzo clears his throat "well I'll leave you two to it I'll stop by later to see how you're doing" Enzo says Kol nods and shakes his hands "okay thanks for doing this I owe you" Kol says Enzo chuckles "you don't owe me anything now beat it go settle into your home I'll see to this guy here" he says taking hold of Maddox's reins before walking off leaving me and Kol alone. "are you ready to see the inside?" Kol asks taking my hand in his and leading me to the house "yes" I say he smiles and pushes the door open stepping aside so I can enter first.

I investigate the house and discover it has two floors the first floor has a small kitchen and a dining room that has a lovely fireplace and then upstairs there are three bedrooms one for me and Kol, one for the baby and one as a spare which we can use for practicing magic and in case we have another baby in the future which I think is really sweet that Kol had a third room added just for that reason. Anyway also on the second floor is a chamber room which isn't very big there's just enough room for you to bath, do your business and walk around.

I lie down on the bed with Kol rubbing my baby bump "do you really like it?" Kol asks "yes it's amazing I still can't believe you had a third room added" I say Kol smiles "well I like to plan ahead" he says "so you want to have another child?" I ask "yes once this little ones at least two or three years old and of course if that's okay with you" he says "I think another would be nice but let's focus on this one first" I say rubbing my bump as I feel the baby kick "of course" he says smiling as he places a hand over mine.

Four weeks later

I huff in discomfort as I sit down "are you feeling alright Davina?" I look up seeing Bonnie standing there with a concerned expression on her face "just a little uncomfortable" I say scrunching my face as I feel a knot in my back. Bonnie is Enzo's wife we were introduced the day after me and Kol moved into our home and we clicked right away bonding over our husbands, our pregnancies and her son Rico anyway Bonnie is here keeping me company while Kol is at work.

Kol got a job working on a farm nearby where Enzo also just so happens to work I swear that guy works everywhere he works building houses, works on a farm and works at the docks. I'm proud of Kol for how hard he's been working although I do worry he's pushing himself too much but he assures me he's fine and that Enzo would send him home if he thought he was working too hard.

I groan as I feel a sudden pain in my lower stomach "Davina?" Bonnie says "Bon could you get me some water please and maybe help me up?" I ask groaning "of course" Bonnie gently grabs my hands and pulls me then rushes off to get some water. She returns with a glass of water and hands it to me "thank you" I say taking a sip but I wince as my stomach twists in pain what is happening?

"Davina I think you may be going into labour" Bonnie says after inspecting my pain she's a midwife which comes in handy for me for times like this "no I'm not due until at least another two or three weeks" I say holding my stomach "sometimes a baby will come early" she says "I need Kol can you get him?" I ask nearly in tears because of how intense the pain is "I can't leave you like this" Bonnie says unsure "I'll be fine besides the farm isn't far away" I say groaning god this hurts. Bonnie checks on Rico who's sleeping in a cot like bassinet that Enzo made for him, she picks him up careful not to wake him "okay I'll be right back" she says before walking out the door with Rico in her arms.

I look down as I feel a sudden gush of water push through me and I see a puddle of water under my feet "my water just broke" I mutter to myself feeling a bit light headed as I see a small drop of blood join the puddle.

Uh oh

Davina's water broke she's in labour, what will happen?

Is she going to be okay? Will Bonnie get Kol? Will Kol get there on time for the birth? Will the baby be okay? What do you think the baby will be? Will the baby be a boy or a girl? Stay in tune for more
