Chapter 47

Next day

Klaus's pov

I head to answer the door when the door bell goes off. I open the door to reveal my siblings and their significant others, my brother Elijah and his wife Hayley and their daughter Emma, my sister Rebekah and of course my beautiful fiancee Camille. I proposed to Cami earlier this month so this is one of the reasons I invited my family over today along with telling them about Kol, about what I found out.

"Hi uncle Nik" Emma says giving me a big grin as she waves at me, my heart melts at the sight of her and how she says my name. Emma has the softest voice ever even when she's screaming her speech is so soft, she has your heart melting everytime she says something. "hey Emma have you been a good girl for your parents?" I ask she nods "yes" she says before running into the house making me chuckle as Hayley follows after her. "Come in" I say stepping aside to let them all in and I give Cami a quick kiss on the lips before shutting the door.

"Dinner is almost ready" I say "you've not poisoned the food have you?" Rebekah jokes "of course not I didn't even make dinner my cooks did" I say I have people cook and clean for me since I'm always busy and can afford to pay to have people work for me. "Now that's something we're going to change once we're married" Cami says giving me a smile "good luck with that Cami he likes having people do things for him" Rebekah says "well let's take a seat there's much we need to discuss" I say taking a seat at the table as they sat down minus Emma who's currently playing on the floor with a toy Hayley gave her so she could entertain herself.

"So brother other than you and Camille getting engaged what else have you been up too?" Elijah asks "a couple months ago Rebekah expressed how she misses our brother Kol and wanted to find him, I too wanted to find him and bring him home" I explain I watch as Elijah and Rebekah's expressions change, Rebekah holds a curious yet hopeful expression while Elijah holds what looks like a shocked expression. "Brother? You have another sibling?" Hayley questions looking confused "yes" Elijah answers "you told me you only had three siblings Klaus and Rebekah and your older sister Freya who died when you were young you mentioned nothing about a second brother" Hayley says "because Kol is gone and I didn't want to bring him up" he says "gone? What do you mean gone?" Hayley asks "we betrayed him a few years ago and our parents disowned him we haven't seen or heard of him since" Elijah explains Hayley shakes her head "I can't you never told me I thought I knew everything about you but I don't " she says "you do Hayley" Elijah says "no I need some air" she says standing up exiting the room picking up Emma on her way.

Elijah glares at me "don't glare at me Elijah you were the one who didn't tell her about our brother not me" I say "why did you even bring up Kol? Why are you wanting to find him?" he asks "because he's our brother and we failed him we betrayed him just so I wouldn't get a beating from Mikeal" I say "if Mikeal knew what really happened you would've gotten a worser punishment than Kol did" Elijah says I scoff at him "so instead we stabbed him in the back when he had nothing to do with it all he did was try to stop me and Stefan fighting" I say the guilt weighing up in my chest. "Our little brother was disowned and thrown out because of us we were meant to protect him and we failed" I say Elijah closes his eyes as he takes a deep breath and exhales "why try to find him now after five years?" he asks "because our family isn't complete without him our family has grown and he hasn't been here with us to experience it" I explain "its time he came home" I add earning a smile from Rebekah and Cami.

Elijah sits down "you're right our family is incomplete with him" he says "so that's why we find him and bring him home" Rebekah says "so have you actually been searching for him?" Elijah asks "yes for the last several months I've had Lucien search for him" I explain "has he found anything?" he asks I nod "Lucien discovered that Kol is alive and that he had arrived in Europe months ago and that he wasn't alone" I say "wasn't alone? Who was he with?" Rebekah asks curiously "supposedly his wife" I say "what?!" Elijah and Rebekah say "he's married?" Rebekah asks " yes but I'm too sure" I say "what do you mean you're not sure?" she asks "Lucien had given me a certificate confirming the marriage and the woman taking Kol's last name but I think it might be a scam" I admit "Klaus we've been over this" Cami warns "you knew?" Rebekah asks "I only found out yesterday about the marriage thing" Cami says defensively. "So this marriage is a scam?" Elijah asks "maybe I don't know from what I know Kol never wanted to get to married he hated the idea of marriage" I explain "that's not entirely true" Rebekah says "what?" I ask "Kol often talked to me about what it would be like to be with someone you really connect with, someone you could call your own he often told me how he wished he had someone special in his life someone to love" she explains "why are we just now learning of this?" I ask "Kol promised me not to say anything because he thought you two would make fun of him or set him up with some hooker he said he wanted to find someone on his own" she explains I look down as I let the new information sink in.  "Do you still have this marriage certificate?" Elijah asks "yes it's in my office for safe keeping why?" I ask "I want to see it" he says I nod excusing myself from the table and heading to my office.

Upon entering the office I quickly grab the folder containing the certificate and head back to the table. I hand the folder to Elijah who opens it and reads it "Kol Neil Mikaelson and Davina Marie Claire are as of now husband and wife may they have an ever lasting happy marriage" Elijah reads out "well I can already assure you brother that this certificate is real you'd be able to tell I've seen plenty of fake certificates and this isn't one" he says handing the certificate to Rebekah before taking out the change the name deed. I watch curiously as Elijah furrows his eyebrows "Davina Claire?" he mutters in question "do you know her?" I ask "not exactly but I know of a woman who used to be friends with our mother her name was Penelope Claire she use to come over all the time with her husband who often talked to our father and I remember her being pregnant at some point they were so overjoyed about it" he says "sorry I hate to interrupt but what's this got to do with Davina Claire?" I ask "hang on I'm getting there" he says holding up his hand. "As I was saying they were overjoyed about the pregnancy as it was their first child. Anyway during Penelope's pregnancy her sister Margo who was also pregnant came to visit and her sisters visit overwhelmed her she didn't trust her sister" he explains taking a moment to pause as he takes a sip of his drink that one of my servants handed to him. "Margo already had two children two sons who she shared with her husband who was a rather rude and arrogant man according to mother and Penelope was unsettled by her presence as it appears the sisters hadn't spoken in years since the death of their mother" he says "then one day Margo and Penelope went into labour on the same day and they both gave birth to baby girls but there were some health complications with Margo's daughter while Penelope's daughter was perfectly healthy she was thriving but one night a few weeks later suddenly Penelope woke up hearing no sound coming from her daughter's room so she and her husband went to investigate and found her baby lifeless in the crib she cried and claimed the dead baby wasn't her daughter that her baby had been switched with another, she expected her sister had something to do with it so her husband and our father went to visit Margo only to discover that she had left that morning but she had left stuff behind including a blanket that belonged to Penelope's daughter and it had her daughters name sown on to it" he explains "what was Penelope's daughter called?" Rebekah asks "Davina" Elijah reveals shocking us all.

"So our brothers wife may very well be our mother's friends long lost daughter who was stolen as a baby?" I question "yes" he says "how can you be so sure that our brothers wife is the same Davina our mother's dear friend lost?" Rebekah asks "I remember seeing paper work on it and I had occasionally seen Penelope with her daughter before she was taken, Davina's middle name Marie was the name of Penelope's mother and she has the same surname" he explains "surely Claire is a common name" I say "it's not only the females in Penelope's family had the last name Claire" he says "surely Penelope's sister would've changed her name and Davina's?" I question "not if she planned on sneaking her out to another country where nobody would know or say anything Margo's last name was Claire even though she was married" he explains "Davina might not know she was stolen" Cami says "this is fucked up if she is Penelope's daughter" Rebekah says "I'll know if she's Penelope's daughter when we meet her as I specifically remember that Davina had bright blue eyes not just a normal blue they were a piercing blue" Elijah says "let's move on to dinner shall we? We can talk more about this later?" Cami suggests "agreed Elijah go see if Hayley's calmed down" I say he nods and quickly leaves the room. I take back the certificates and eye the change name deed feeling sorry for Davina who's life will probably be turned upside down if she is in fact the missing daughter of our mother's friend.
