Chapter 41

Klaus's pov

I look up as my office door is swung open and Lucien walks in "I have news regarding your brother" he says my eyes widen and I straighten myself up "well do tell" I say motioning for him to speak "a boat arrived here in Europe and it just so happens your brother was a passenger on that boat" he says I smile at the news. "he's come home" I say "not exactly I managed to speak to one of the crew members on that boat who had spoken to him several times and they said he came to Europe to start a brand new life with his lover" Lucien explains "lover?" I ask surprised "yes but not just any kind of lover she's his wife" he says "wife? That can't be right Kol isn't married" I say slightly in denial. "well according to the record that I got he is" he says handing me an envelope which I immediately take and rip open, pulling out a thick piece of paper, my eyes scan the words "this certificate declares that Kol Neil Mikaelson and Davina Marie Claire are as of now husband and wife may they have an ever lasting happy marriage" I read out loud "their signatures are at the bottom and also there's another certificate in there it's a change a name deed Davina took his last name once they married" Lucien explains as I pull out another thick piece of paper.

I can't seem to find the words to say as I read over the two certificates continously my little brother is married and I wasn't there to see it. "where is Kol and his wife now?" I ask "I'm not entirely sure" Lucien says "what do you mean you're not entirely sure?" I ask glaring at him slightly "the boat they were on arrived months ago and there's been no trace of them since they got off that boat" he says "so all you know is that my brother arrived here months ago with his wife but you have no clue where he is as of right now?" I question "unfortunately no but I'm going to continue looking for him" he says "good now could you leave me alone I need time to process this information" I say "of course" Lucien says nodding his head before exiting the room.

I run a hand through my hair, I can't believe Kol is married I never thought he of all people would get married as he was never into the idea of marriage he despised it. Kol was more of a lone wolf or a black sheep in some ways he kept to himself he wasn't dependent on anyone and whenever one of us got into a relationship he'd scoff and make a negative comment about it then again he was only fifteen back then so he was still young and when you're that age you say and do a lot of things that you don't really mean.

This sudden news doesn't change anything I will find my brother and I suppose his wife and I will bring them home so everything will be okay again but I will have to inspect this Davina because for all I know she might be playing him or maybe Kol's just using her as a form of comfort so he's not alone.
