I'm preparing a nice picnic dinner for me and Davina where I will propose to her. I found a violinist on the boat so I kindly asked him if he could play the violin at the dinner and he said yes luckily. I'm setting up a few candles around the room to make it look more romantic as this has to be perfect.
"alright all done now I just have to get the food from Gustav" I mutter clapping my hands, Gustav is the baker and he's kindly made us some pastries and sandwiches for the picnic I of course paid him a bit of money for it.
I find Gustav in his room that's he staying in during the journey to Europe. "hey Gustav have you got those pastries and sandwiches for me?" I ask he turns around handing me the boxes containing the food "here you go good luck on the proposal you have a very pretty lady" he says with a big smile "thank you i'll be talking to you again" I say giving him a nod as I exit his room.
I set up the pastries and sandwiches on a plate on the picnic blanket then I stand up to admire my work "now to get Davina" I mutter taking a deep breath before exiting the room to find Davina.
I find her chatting to a young woman who has a child sat on her lap "well I have something that can heal him" I hear Davina say to the woman "would it work?" I hear a tremble in the woman's voice "it will I promise you" Davina says giving the woman a sweet smile who smiles back "Davina" I say walking over to them she looks at me "hey Kol this is Doris and her son Joseph" she says I turn to the girl and am stunned by how young she is "hi nice to meet you" I say she gives me a weak smile "you too" she says "i hate to sound nosy but how old are you?" I ask "I'm 15" she says I look at the boy on her lap who can be no older than 2 years old "he won't judge you" Davina says calming the girl "okay well I'll see you around" she says standing up holding her child close to her and walking away "poor girl she was raped by her brother in law and fell pregnant with his child the family shunned and banished her" Davina says watching as Doris walks away "you said something about healing the child what's wrong with him?" I ask taking her hand in mine lacing our fingers together "he's sick with a fever I'm going to make a healing medicine for him" she says I smile at her kindness "you'll be his guardian angel" I say giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
Me and Davina arrive outside the room I've set up our little date in "ready?" I ask she looks up at my her blue eyes twinkle "what have you been up too?" she asks "planning a very special date for us" I say with that I open the door "oh my" she gasps as she takes in the sight "picnic for two" I say gesturing for her to sit down "who's that?" she asks pointing to the violinist stood in the corner as she sits down on the blanket "that's Petey he plays the violin he's going to provide music for us" I say snapping my fingers indicating for him to start playing "so care for pastries and sandwiches?" I ask sitting down she smiles grabbing a chocolate crossiont "don't mind if I do" she says taking a small bite out of the crossiont "wow it's delicious" she says I smile grabbing one for myself. . . .
An hour later
We've finished the pastries and sandwiches "I'm so full" Davina says rubbing her stomach I chuckle "I'm so glad I didn't ask Gustav for another load" I say "I think I would've burst if you had" she giggles leaning her head on my shoulder I watch her as she closes her eyes and hums to the sound of the violin I could watch her all day if I could.
"Davina" I say breaking the silence "yeah" she says pulling away from my shoulder to look at me "I have something to say" I say clearing my throat as I get up on my knees slipping my hand in my pocket and pulling out the box containing the engagement ring, Davina gasps when she sees the box "Kol?" she says getting on her knees "Davina I know the way we met wasn't perfect but it's how our story began I think you're the most incredible woman I've ever laid eyes on you're so beautiful with a kind heart and a wise mind and I'm so unbelievably lucky to have you in my life I adore you Davina you've brightened up my life and I'll forever be thankful for it I want to spend the rest of my life with you Davina will you marry me?" I ask opening the box revealing the ring "what did I tell you? You didn't need to get me a ring" she says tears rolling down her face "is that a no?" I ask nervously "of course not you already asked and I said yes remember" she says "I remember but you deserve a proper proposal" I say she smiles gently taking the ring out of the box "yes I will marry you" she says I smile taking the ring from her and slipping it on her finger "I love you so much" I say cupping her face in my hands "I love you too" she says cupping my face in her hands our eyes are connected and all I see is love, happiness, joy and relief before our lips meet in a passionate kiss, I can't wait to marry this girl.
