“Damn it Tom, what did you do?!” I groaned, getting up from the couch and walking towards the kitchen with Jay and Kelsey following me.

“Why do you automatically assume it was me?” He asked, when I walked it. Him and Max were waving a towel around the stove while Siva and Nathan were opening the windows. Ashlee sat at the table sipping a beer.

“Usually when someone yells fire, they run out of the house… or maybe it’s just me… ” Jay mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Pat the fire out!” I yelled, looking at Max and Tom waving around like girls.

“Well, it’s fire Tan, something you don’t want to touch!” Tom said.

“No shit..” I rolled my eyes, and grabbed the towel from Tom and patted the fire out. “There. All better.” I grinned at them and wiped my hands together, and folded my arms across my chest.

“Maybe we should just order in.” Ashlee said, putting her drink down.

“That’d be the best idea.” I said.

“But, we can cook you know.” Tom whined. “I wanted to make you-” I put my finger on his mouth.

“No.”

“Why?” He mumbled, with my finger pressed against his lips.

“Because, I don’t want to die.” I smiled.

“Ditto.” Ashlee said. I grabbed her beer and took a sip. Tom took the beer from me and took a sip. “Siva, Max, would you like a sip of my beer too?” Ashlee asked sarcastically, watching Tom chug her beer.

“What about me?” Nathan asked.

“You have cooties.”

“Yeah, cause that’s mature.”

“I’m just speaking your language there kiddo.” Ashlee flashed a fake smile at him, talking to him like he was a child.

“I’m nineteen you know.”

“Nineteen doesn’t mean grown up.” Ashlee said.

“According the girls, I’m grown up.” Nathan scoffed.

“Notice how you said, girls, not woman.”

“You two are acting like children.” Siva said.

I nodded. “The man speaks the truth.”

“I think they need a time out together.” Tom laughed.

“Not a bad idea.” I mumbled.

“What?” Ashlee asked.

“Time out. You and him. You haven’t stopped bickering all day.” I explained. “So, with a time out, maybe you can learn to deal with each other.”

“There is no way in hell, I’m being in the same room as her alone.” Nathan complained.

“I don’t care.” I said. Ashlee looked at Nathan, and then me, with a ‘what a great friend you are’ kind of look.

“I’m gonna need another beer.” Ashlee sighed, getting up and walking to the fridge, taking out a beer, and flicking the top with a tssst sound.

“I’m gonna need two.” Nathan groaned.

“Where’s their time out?” Max asked, with an amused look on his face.

“A room. With no distractions.” I said.

“Siva’s room?” Tom suggested.

“Why my room?”
