HEAD'S UP: WRITTEN IN THIRD PERSON OR NO ONE'S POINT OF VIEW, WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT.
Grace slammed the shot glass down onto the coffee table in front of the couch. She made a ‘blaahck’ noise and gave a funny face. Everybody was silent. Jeff that was sitting beside her, slammed his down onto the coffee table. Ashlee held an ice pack to her stomach, where Bridget kicked her while Bridget held one on her nose. She cried for thirty minutes before because it was bleeding. Grace and Jeff drank one bottle each of whiskey when that was happening.
“Okay, so let’s get to it, what happened.” Grace asked, pouring another shot for Jeff and herself for when parts that they needed alcohol for would be ready.
Everybody started talking at once. Grace and Jeff looked at each other. “Shut up.” Jeff said. “One at a time. Curly boy-”
“Jay, daddy.” Bridget smiled at Jay. He flashed a small sympathetic smile for a kilo second.
“-Jay,” Jeff groaned at Bridget, “What happened?”
“Uh, well, Ashlee,” Ashlee stared Jay down. “and Bridget, got into a fight..” He bit his lower lip. “But we separated them. Right boys?” Jay laughed nervously.
“Yah yah.” Max nodded. “Its all good. No need to send anyone home.” He smiled.
“Thomas,” Grace said. She only called Tom, Thomas when she was serious, and mad, and you never knew what she would do. Tom gulped. “What happened sweetie?” She quirked an eyebrow.
“What Jay said, they just, they- they just got into a tussle. No big deal really.”
“Thomas, are you lying?”
“….no…” Tom mumbled. Grace pulled out her phone. Everybody watched with eagle eyes. She pressed some buttons and held out the phone to Tom’s eyes to view it. His eyes widened. The number to his mother was plastered on the screen.
“What happened Thomas?”
He looked around, at everyone. Ashlee was giving him daggers. Tanya was frozen, staring at nothing. Jay was looking at the floor. Max was smiling softly, trying to lighten the mood. Siva was quiet, playing with his hands. Nathan fixed his hat for the tenth time in five minutes. “Uh - um - I - her - I - no - uh.” Tom stuttered.
“Thomas,” Grace growled. “What happened?” Her finger hovering over the call button. Tom gulped again, and Grace hit the call button. It rang once and Tom’s mouth opened.
“Ashlee did it! It was her! She, she did it! Don’t call my mum, please!” He said quickly. Grace closed the phone and looked at Ashlee, who was clenching her fists.
“There’s gonna be another fight in a minute Parker.” Ashlee grumbled.
“Shit.” Tom said under his breath.
“Tom, language.” Grace snapped, and grabbed her shot.
“Ashlee, why did you start the fight?” Jeff spoke as Grace made her face and pouring another shot. Ashlee shrugged.
“You’re daughter’s a bitch.” Grace downed another shot.
“Am not, you whore.” Bridget snapped. Grace grabbed Jeff’s shot, down it went.
“Mum, stop, you’re gonna be drunk in ten minutes.” Tanya muttered at her mother, staring at the same spot she’s been looking at for the past ten minutes.
“What part did you have in all this?” Grace asked her daughter. Tanya shook her head.
“Nothing really.”
