A New Avenger

The Confrontation

I sat only for a few minutes before Cat burst through the door. She had a smile on her face and her cheeks were a bright red. "Cat, where were you?" I asked calmly all she said was "Just about. How about you and Thor, eh? I sense he's got the goods for you." Trying to ignore what she just said I answered "I know where you were." She looked at me confused and said "you mean with Loki? Yeah Fury sent me in to talk to him that's all. Don't worry, I would never turn against the team." In a way I wanted to believe her but I had a feeling deep down, and I never said anything about turning. I looked up at her and said "Okay Cat, I was just curious what was up with that." I didn't want her to suspect. She laughed a little and said "But isn't he hot though." I smiled and said "yeah.....But Thor's way hotter. " We laughed in unison until she said "Well we better get ready for sleep. Tomorrow is another day of who knows what." I smiled and said "Yeah, we have to wake up early tomorrow, like at 6:30. Fury wants a bright and early meeting." She gave a loud sigh and said "Fury is such a pain." We laughed together and changed into our night clothes. I couldn't get her conversation with Loki out of my mind. But I was definitely ready for the next day.

My alarm on my phone went off at 6:30 exactly. I reached over and turned it off. I looked over at Cat she gave a loud annoyed groan and with her face buried into the pillow said "Fury, why so EARLY?!?!?!" I couldn't help but laugh. I don't know what it was but I could get up at anytime without much hassle. I quickly changed into my uniform and did my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror, I hope today things go well with Thor. I looked over at Cat, she had just gotten into her suit, she was doing her hair. The usual 'clip the bangs back' look. Once we were both done we went strait to the meeting room. We weren't early today, but still on time. I walked in and looked at the dazzling god of thunder sitting in the same chair as yesterday, next to mine. He gave me a wave and motioned me to sit next to him. Cat sat near Fury. The other girls walked in shortly after us. Emilie sat next to me and Mackenzie annd Joanne sat across from me. I gave Joanne a wave and she gestured to Thor and gave a wink. It made me blush. Emilie leaned over to me and said "hey, I know we really haven't talked yet but I think your power is really cool." I looked over at her and said "Are you kidding me? If I could make food appear, I would be the happiest person alive." She laughed and said "Yeah, it is pretty fun to have. What's really cool is that no matter how much I eat my metabolism keeps me from getting fat." That explains why she wasn't fat at all. She continued " most people only know my food power but I really love to shapeshift, that's mostly why I'm here. I don't think food helps while in combat." Heh yeah, she had a point. Clint, Bruce,Steve, Tony and Natasha all walked in at the same time. Tony searched the room until his eyes found Emilie he grabbed a chair and sat next to her. He smiled to her and she gave a sincere smile back. Steve walked strait towards Mackenzie. She got up and they gave a huge hug to each other. Steve's cheeks turned red. Clint looked at Joanne, he froze only for a moment and sat next to her. They chatted away about yesterday's training. I guess they really enjoyed themselves. Natasha looked at Thor and I and gave a smile and nodded her head in disapproval. She took a seat on the opposite side of Fury. Bruce had an unnerving look on his face. It kind of scared me. Considering he's the Hulk. After everyone took their seats Fury started. "Hello Avengers, I gathered you here so early because of special practice assignments I have for each pair of you. I will give you a paper with a special missions according to your power. Once you have finished you may have the rest of the day off. Considering we have Loki captive there isn't much we can do except train. We figured getting to know each other would be good for the team." Fury handed us our papers and we read it over. Thor and I had a mission together. This was going to be a good day.
