A New Avenger

Jed...

That's just great. He slowly walked to his seat with a crooked smile. Jed sighed and then raised his hand. "Mr. Tabolt I think we have a new student." The teacher turned around and said "oh thank you Jed I didn't notice." Mr. Tabolt glanced at me as all the other students turned around. I felt my face turn a bright red. "Well hello young lady, please come to the front." I stood up feeling as if I may pass out. Walking to the front of the class every eye was on me. You'd think I'd be used to this already. "Well what is your name?" Mr. Tabolt  said. I spoke with fear in my voice "I'm Esme" Mr. Tabolt gave a nice smile and quickly introduced everyone to me. Most teachers usually don't introduce one by one.

When it came to Jed he spoke " we've already met Mr. Tab." He of course had that annoying smile on his face. "Then I trust that you have been kind to our new student." "Of course."

The rest of the day went with no sight of Jed except during lunch he eyeballed me a few times. Time for the bus. That's just great. I tried to get there quick so I wouldn't have to sit by Jed. But before I could even get there, Jed and a bunch of his friends showed up.  They were all jocks like him. Big tough muscles and angry looks. Probably on the football team.

" where do you think you're going?" He said. Without looking up I said "the same place you are,the bus." He snorted back "I don't think so" they were getting a little close. I was trying to stay calm, I don't want to relocate after the first day. He laughed and said "You don't talk much do you? Well you don't have to worry about that, we can make you scream." His fist flew up and right before he hit me I grabbed his hand, I twisted it and let it go. I don't want to reveal my true strength. " fast reflexes." He snorted. His one smarter friend suggested " Maybe we should go." Jed hissed back " No, we need to teach her how to talk." Then his friend lifted his hand and slapped me. I tired to keep my cool but, That's it. I glanced at the water fountain and at least 2 tons of water came gushing out, the 3 boys were knocked down. They screamed. I turned to run but then Jed grabbed me. I swiftly pulled his arm over my shoulder, he ate the tile floor. He tried to get up but then the tile surrounded his hands. The two other boys looked at me and yelled "Are you some kind of witch?" I turned around and started to run.

Great, another relocation.
