The Discovery

As I sat in my room replaying the whole conversation with Loki it hit me. He said he was expecting someone else. Not me. He was probably waiting for Cat. I walked back to Loki's chamber, only this time silently. i looked at the scanner, still destroyed In tiny pieces.oops. I peeked inside the door to see Cat sitting where I was. I listened in. Cat spoke first, "Loki, I thought we had something special, I saw you with Esme, to me it looked like you loved her." Her face was red, was she about to cry? Loki looked into her eyes and responded "Oh dear Cat, I was only acting like that for you." She had a look of confusion as he carried on. "I love you my dear, and you should know that. I wanted your dear friend to be on our side. I didn't want you to fight her later on." I quickly put my back on the wall. So he was tricking me. Or was he? I know what I saw in his eyes, it wasn't love, but compassion. I could tell he genuinely cared about me, but did not love me. I saw vulnerability like I've never seen before in his eyes. Maybe he did have a heart deep down. I knew he cared about Cat way more though. And she fell in love with him back in a split of a second, with no thought. I looked back over the edge again, Cat was now grinning and said "Okie Loki, I trust you with my life. Thank you." She transformed back into a cat and leaped out the back door. I turned around and quickly ran out. I have to tell Fury.

I raced down the hallways and into Fury's office. He was with Bruce. "Excuse me Sir." I said interrupting their conversation. Fury looked over at me and said "Not now Esme, I'm having an important conversation with Dr. Banner over here" I looked at Bruce and said "This is urgent news." Fury looked at me then Bruce. Bruce got up and said "I understand." I took a seat where he was. Fury looked at me blankly until I spoke. "I fear Cat is joining Loki." Fury looked at me and gave a slight chuckle. "Esme, I understand your worries but I have it under control. Cat is just working with Loki, to keep him contained." I looked at him and shook my head no. "No, you don't understand their an item. As in dating." Fury lifted his eyebrows at me and said "and what are you and Thor? Please Esme, I can handle the situation that I don't believe exists." I angrily stood up. The chair slid out from under me. I opened the door and yelled on my way out "Fine, when they escape you'll wish you listened to me." And I slammed the door, breaking the glass.

I started to run to my room. Everyone around me kept calling my name to stop, but i just couldn't i was too mad right now.On my way I ran into Thor. I don't want him to see me this way. Thor looked at me then spoke "What troubles you Esme?" I looked into his eyes and said "Nothing" I tried to say it calmly but it sounded too stern to sound like a sincere nothing. He furrowed his eyebrows and said "Please Esme, I'll listen to your problems and will assist you. Being alone while upset never solves anything." Didn't he just ditch me a while ago while he was upset, to be 'alone'? I looked up at his concerned eyes tying to calm myself and said "you left me to be alone." He looked into the opposite direction and said, "Yes and it was my mistake to leave you alone. Please come speak to me over in my quarters." I nodded in agreement and grabbed his outstretched hand. He led me to his room. It was three times the size of mine with a king bed. He had a huge skylight above his bed so he could look at the stars at night. As we walked in he closed the door. I sat on the middle of the bed while he sat on the corner. He looked at me and said, "Now Esme, what troubles you? I heard you screaming at Fury, I fear it's something Loki did. I saw you walk into his chambers and break the scanner. What did he say to you?" I looked at him, I felt my eyes begin to fill with tears. I put my head in my hand, I don't want to cry in front of the mighty Thor. I wiped my eyes and started to speak, "I let my heart out to your brother, and he let his out to me. I saw the man he once was for a short second. I thought maybe he could change. Now I realize I was right all along, he's sick and he can't change. He's fallen in love with Cat, and she with him. Fury won't believe me. I know what I saw. Before you call me crazy-" he cut me off  "I believe you." "What?" I asked in disbelief. "I believe you" he repeated. I looked into his dark blue eyes. "Y-you do? Why?" I asked wiping the tears off my face. "My brother is still in there I know it. And I don't doubt for a second that he fell in love with your friend. He's just a lost soul. I can't bare to even look at him for a moment, all I see is the changed man he is. I don't see my brother." I looked into his eyes as he spoke. He had a look of worry written all over his face. He got up from the bed and outstretched his hand. I looked at him and he at me. He pulled me close and embraced me. I felt his warm chest against mine. I felt safe and secure in his arms, like if the world ended right now, it wouldn't matter .We released at the same time. Our eyes met.Without a thought in my mind our lips touched. Our kiss was magical, it felt as if time was frozen. Like a million fireworks went off at the same time. My heart was pounding out of my chest. He leaned in closer and I stood on my toes. as we released we looked into each others eyes and held hands. I know now what my whole life was waiting for. all these years of rejection was leading to this one moment. All the anger and sadness in this one day led to such a beautiful thing. I never thought this one man would be so perfect. Boy was I wrong.
