A New Avenger

The Training

As Thor and I walked to the facility I watched Cat and Fury walk into a secret room. Boy was I curious. But there was no time for that at the moment, I was with the god of thunder. We made it to our training facility, it was a glass room with dirt and rock on the bottom and a tiny pond filled with water. I guess that's for me. At the door stood an agent, he was tall and had a stern look. But the second he saw us he gave us a nice smile before he spoke, "Hello, Esme and Thor, I was expecting you. Today we'll be doing solo and dual training." Dual training? I thought to myself. Interrupting my thoughts he continued "first i'll take Thor, Esme please wait right here." I stood to where he pointed as he lead Thor into the room. I guess the glass was sound proof because I couldn't hear a word they were saying but their lips were moving. The man gestured to a few places around that room, and then he left, closing the door behind him. He walked to where I was standing and said "We have placed special machines so that Thor can create lightning. Also dummies will pop out at random and he has to hit them. Although he completely doesn't believe in training we still force him to anyway." I chuckled at his comment, Then turned my attention to Thor. He lifted mjonir to the ceiling and summoned the thunder. As lighting began to hit his hammer the thick glass began to shake. I looked over at the agent he didn't seem as astonished as I was. Then Thor stopped the thunder and lightning. Dummies began to pop up out of no where Thor hit every one by either throwing mjonir or just hitting them strait on. I was, again, astonished at his abilities. I'm afraid to battle him one on one later. Each wooden dummy shattered into tiny bits as he hit them. The last dummy came up and he hit it dead on. As soon as he realized that was the last one he walked out of the glass room. He looked up at me and said "Your turn." The agent escorted me to the room and Thor stood exactly where I stood. As we walked into the room, it seemed bigger then it did on the outside. The agent began to speak "So Esme, first we want you to create rain. We have placed special machines just like Thor's so please don't hold back". I looked at him in the eyes as he spoke, he had a look of seriousness. He continued "After that just like Thor you will have dummies pop out, just please defend yourself as you would in a real situation. Please don't hold back or feel ashamed, we need you to try your best." I felt as if there was a lot of pressure, the great Thor was watching and I've never really used my powers for defense other than a couple times with bullies. I mean I've made rain tons of times, like when I didn't feel like running a mile in gym class but never like this. "Then" he continued "you will train one on one with Thor." As he finished he walked out the door, I looked out the window and they both gave a thumbs up. I looked up at the ceiling and first a couple drops fell then I started to make it pour really hard around me. I didn't want to get wet so I just made sure to keep the water away. I looked behind me through the glass and he gave me the stop indication. As soon as the rain stopped, a dummy popped out and without any thinking, I punched it square in the middle shattering it into little pieces. More dummies popped up and I created fire and burned them into ashes. I felt the blood pulsing through my body, a thrill of some sort. As three more popped out I took the water out of the small pond and froze it into blades and stabbed the wooden  figure. The next three dummies popped at the same time I decided to use stone and crush them into little bits. The last dummy popped out I used air for this one, a huge gust of wind hit the figure and shot it to the back of the room. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. I looked behind me to find both men with their eyebrows lifted in amazement, I turned around and gave a smile. The agent walked into the room and said "Fantastic job Esme, now it's time for the one on one. Come with me out here for a strength test." We followed him until We sat down at a wooden table. "You and Thor will first do an arm wrestle." Thor looked at me from across the table and said "An arm wrestle, with a lady?" The agent simply replied "yes" Thor looked over at me and said "okay." He gave me a smirk and grabbed my hand. his hand was at least twice the size of mine. not to mention His looks were unbeatable, his beautiful eyes and his shining blonde hair. I was too busy swooning over Thor I didn't even hear a go. But next thing I knew my hand was on the table, with his on top. He looked at the agent and said "This is ridiculous. She can't beat an Asguardian." I felt ashamed but I managed to say "One more time." Thor gave a chuckle and said "Whatever you say Lady Esme." This time I only focused on my strength, and I waited for a go. A few seconds later the agent said "go." I felt Thors strength but it was no match for mine, I slammed his hand on the wood and it shattered into sharp shreads of wood. Oops. In shock Thor lifted his hand, I hope I didn't hurt him. I asked if he was okay he responded "Yes Lady Esme. You have got an amazing ability." I felt my cheeks turn red and said "Thanks." I imagined him being angry but he wasn't, he was just amazed. I wonder if Cat had anything to do with that. The agent interrupted us and said "Well lets go back to the room." We followed him back to the glass room. Once we were there the agent instructed us to go inside. "Now," he spoke, but before he could finish Thor interrupted "Excuse me good man, I must leave. I have prior arrangements with Agent Coulson." Confused the agent said "okay Thor, I guess this is the end of today's training. Esme, you can explore the rest of H.Q." I looked over at Thor and jokingly said "What are you scared of me Thor?" We both laughed. "No, lady Esme, I wish to do this some other time, so I can redeem myself." I gave him a goodbye wave as he walked away. The I turned around to find the agent left. I walked around until I found the door Cat and Fury walked into. I know I shouldn't go in, but I was way too curious. There was a keypad to get in but I quickly disarmed it and entered in. Keypads were always way too easy. I looked around and heard Cat and a unfamiliar voice. I hid behind the entrance and peeked over. Loki. Why was she talking to Loki? I listened in. Loki spoke first "Cat, I could use people like you in my army." Instead of declining she said "Keep going." Was she serious?!?!? Maybe it's a type of trick or a mind manipulation. I listened on. "I need people on the inside of this black hole you call S.H.I.E.L.D. And I think a girl of your beauty and wits would be absolutely perfect." I looked at Cat. Was she blushing?!? She responded with "How will I know I can trust you?" He said "I don't bargain with anyone, I will give you your hearts desire. Your wildest dreams. Only if you just assist me to take over this world I call Midguard." She said " Let me think about it." And she started to walk towards my direction. I ran quickly outside the door and ran to my room. Was Cat a traitor or was it just a manipulation? I sat confused on my bed. Waiting for her to walk in.
