The Escape

As I sat on Cats bed I couldn't help but feel so much anger. She thought she could trick me? I was never off her scent! She is just a confused girl! I wanted to scream, I felt anger surging through my body. I felt tears begin to well up in my eyes. I tried to hold them in but I just couldn't, they began to stream down my face. How could she do this?! I took a deep breath in, I need to calm myself.

After at least 5 minutes of trying to somewhat keep myself together I heard a knock at the door. I really didn't feel like talking to anybody right now. Whoever it was knocked again. I could tell it wasn't Thor because he would've broken the door down by now. I wiped my face looked in the mirror and opened the door. I was expecting to see maybe Fury standing in the doorway but it was Emilie. She looked at me and said "Esme what's wrong? I came to chat with Cat but you seem to be the only one in here, and you look very upset." I flicked on the lights and leaned back so I could see myself the mirror. Jeez I look like I was hit by a bus. I had dirt on my face and suit from the vents and it was all red with tears. I rubbed my face again and said "Come in." I sat on my bed while she sat on cats. She took a deep breath and began "Esme, look I know we're not that close but you can tell me what's bothering you. Is it about Thor?" I couldn't help but give a small chuckle and said "no, its Cat." She gave a confused look and said "Cat? Did you guys fight or something?" I let out a sigh and said "No, she just-. You won't believe me." She tilted her head a little and said "Try me." I looked up at her and began "well, she's been with someone. I tried telling Fury but he won't listen-" she cut me off "Wait, wait ,wait she's with someone? As in Loki someone?" I looked up at her and said "Yeah. Please believe me, it's not going to end well if we just sit around." Her eyes grew wide as she began "Esme, I believe you, we need to do something about it. And if Fury isn't, we'll have to." I felt better knowing she believes me but I still feel like crap knowing no one else does.

We continued to chat about Cat and my fears of what will happen next until a huge siren cut us off. There was a red light in my room that spun in circles and had a speaker. It was so loud that I felt my ear drums shake. I looked at Emilie and yelled over the load noise "What does that mean!?" She yelled back "I don't know!" Next thing I knew Thor broke down the door and yelled "ESME! CAT AND LOKI JUST ESCAPED IN A HELICOPTER! WE NEED TO GO....NOW!" I looked at Emilie her eyes were huge as we both sprang to our feet. I ran next to Emilie with Thor in front. I felt a rush of confusion and guilt. Should I have stopped them earlier? Is this my fault?
