A Sinner's Secret
Chapter 5 ~ I've Got 99 Problems & You're One Of Them
Mason's POV
"How's she?" I asked, facing my empty suitcase.
Zayn's footsteps wandered around the room. "Same as always." He groaned.
I sighed. "Well that's good I suppose. Anything new?"
"No," he rushed. "Listen, I don't think what you're doing is right."
"What we're doing." I corrected. "Don't forget that you have just as much of a part in this as I do. No backing out."
He tightened his hands into fists. I turned back around, dumping clothes into my suitcase. "I'm leaving."
"What?!"
"I'm going away, dodging in the shadows for a while. Kade's been hunting on my trail, got to throw her off." I zipped up my full suitcase, facing Zayn, he flashed me a scowl. "Keep an eye on her." I told him, pointedly. He reluctantly nodded and ran off with his vampire speed.
I angrily let out a sigh, tugging at my newly cut hair. My head began to throb as it has the past few weeks. I stumbled my way into the bathroom, yanking a bottle of pills from the medicine cabinet. After downing two pills, i could feel the relief settling in.
For the past few weeks I've been having really bad headaches. Some got so painful to the point where I would collapse on the floor. The doctors said they couldn't find anything wrong and just gave me a prescription.
My watch beeped, signaling that I needed to get going to the airport. "Watch over the pack, will you Bryson?" Bryson Burageaurd was my new beta, my replacement for Dustin and all who betrayed me.
Bryson was much more loyal. "Absolutely, Alpha Mason." He saluted me, looking straight ahead. I nodded, letting him know he was at ease.
I hauled a cab, since our pack wasn't exactly placed in the best spot. Right next to a road where civilization buzzed wasn't the best plan.
I paid the driver and sprinted inside the airport. I was the last one to board, barely making it before the closed the gates.
I fell back in my seat, closing my eyes in relaxation. I was finally away from drama and stress. No need of worrying about Kade hunting me down. I could finally lay low. All I needed to do was plan for the perfect time to strike at her heart with a stake and silver bullet.
My eyes shot open in annoyance when my phone buzzed. "No phones on during the flight, sir." A snobby flight attendance grunted. I glared at her back as she walked away.
I opened the text, a rare text from Zayn. But I nearly choked on my own spit when I saw what he texted.
We've got a problem. ~ Zayn
Attached to the message was a very clear picture of Kade, loaded with weapons, and a mystery boy. This was not good, he could jeopardize everything!
"Zayn, I want you to find out who that boy is and kill him!" I screamed into the phone.
On the other end it sounded like he was running. "I'm trying to remember if I've seen him anywhere, never seen him in my life!"
I groaned, rubbing my temples as I felt my headache grow stronger. I downed another two pills. Great, more problems to deal with. The Moon Goddess only knows what other shit I have to worry about that's going on in Heaven.
