Chapter 19 ~ God Forbid She's Happy For Once

Marcel's POV

Oh, dear God forgive me, for I have sinned. I hope that you will help guide me to see the light. I wish to no longer be held captive by darkness.

Help me bust out of jail.

My hands gripped the rusted, probably disease infested, metal bars of the cramped cell these officers were holding us in. They kept us under close watch overnight. They didn't give us water, food, or proper sanitation. Out of the corner of my eye, I glared at the small toilet that stuck out of the wall.

"Glaring at it won't make it clean." Kade chuckled as she sat up from the cot she had just awoken from. "I don't get why you're so upset, honestly. Staying the night is a breeze compared to the real thing."

I shook me head, a deep breath escaping my lips. "You know, we never would've ended up in this mess if it wasn't for you." I said, turning to face her. All the calmness within me was replaced by sudden rage.

Her eyes widened. "My fault? Last time I checked, you're the one who dragged me out to have a nice, lovely chat with my uncles. And it was your decision to move in with me, may I remind you." She said with sarcasm.

"You just had to run away to an abandoned house, didn't you? Because of you, this is going on my personal record. How am I supposed to get into Harvard now?" I turned around to face the bars and began to lightly bang my head against them.

"I didn't have a choice. If I knew you were going to act so controlling about my life and how I live, I would've never let you in it." She said, suddenly. A long, uncomfortable silence washed over us. Even the guards arguing at the desk across from us had stopped. One leaned his back against the office room door, a slight smirk of amusement on his face, while the other sat at the desk, awkwardly shifting through paperwork to avoid eye contact.

"Maybe it was a mistake coming back to you, then." I finally spoke up, but barely in a whisper.

"Maybe it was." I heard her say. "Maybe we were a mistake."

Just last night, we were talking about marriage, us together for the rest of our lives. Now, we're here, stuck in jail with our lives ruined.

"Then, maybe we should break up."

The moment I said those words, I instantly regretted it. But, our relationship was falling apart at the seams. She's immortal and I lost that privilege the second I pushed that stupid button. This just goes to show, you shouldn't risk anything for love.

"I guess we're over." She said, any sign of sadness gone.

There was a faint sound of metal rattling coming from outside the cell. I looked up to see the larger, quieter officer unlocking the door. He held the door wide open before speaking. "Well, you're free to go."

"Are you serious?" Kade asked.

"Yeah, the same woman who sent us out on this wild goose chase bailed you two out. Said her name was Eleanor Calder, your stepmother. Your father is out in the hallway, as well." He said. You could practically hear Kade's heart stop as fear overwhelmed her. "Is something wrong, Miss?"

There was a slight pause before she shook her head. "No, I'm fine." The officer nodded, gesturing for us to step out. I took no time escaping that retched, awful place.

Before I made it to the door that separated the hallway from the cell room, I thought I heard the other officer mumble something along the lines of, "All hell is going to break loose when those two get into that hallway."

Boy, was he right.

When I got out into the hall, I saw a very enraged Louis and Eleanor trying to calm him down. Kade finally entered into the hallway. She slowly and timidly approached the couple. Relief washed over Eleanor's face as she engulfed Kade into a hug.

"Thank goodness you're alright, you had me so worried. We didn't know where you were or why your bedroom was all packed up." She rushed out in one breath.

"What the hell were you thinking, trespassing on private property and getting arrested?" Louis asked, gripping Kade's upper arm and forcefully yanking her towards him. "You're ruining everything in the life I worked hard to build for you!"

Surprisingly, she didn't back down from Louis. There was no expression or emotion written on her face. "I wouldn't have gotten arrested if your poor excuse of a wife hadn't called the cops on me! And you didn't build my life, you're barely apart of it!"

I hadn't expected Louis to do anything, maybe shout at her, but he did far worse. Shoving her to the ground, he brought his right foot behind him, launching it forward until it embedded itself into her stomach and ribcage. He brought his foot back again, launching it in the same spot, repeating his actions until multiple officers had to pull him away as female officers rushed to Kade's side.

"You little bitch! I wish you were never born!" Louis shouted, lashing forward, but was still held back. My body stood frozen as I watched the horrific scene in front of me.

Why hadn't I done something to stop him?

----------------------------------------------

Ugh, this chapter sucks.

It's scary to write abusive chapters about Louis because it's so unlike him in real life. And Marcel and Kade broke up .-. Sorry for the crappy break up, though.

Sorry for the awful chapter and late update. It's just that school is starting in less than two weeks and I'm starting high school so I'm freaking out everyday.

And I've also lost some inspiration so I'm trying to get that back and rid of the writers block. When school starts, expect updates later and on weekends because of my busy schedule.

Thank you guys for being so patient! I LUFF YOU GUYZ! <3
