Missing

Ponyboys POV

I was sat on the couch, knees hugged to my chest.

I haven't seen Johnny in weeks, maybe even a month. I haven't heard from him either... he just... disappeared.

Ever since he hadn't come around, I've been... how do I explain? Worried. Concerned. Terrified. All those combined into one.

I even walked down by his house but no one has been home for weeks, I'm just glad I didn't run into his parents.

"Hey kid," a hand landed on my shoulder and I jumped, whipping my head around to see Dally.

"Didn't mean to scare ya, why you so jumpy all of a sudden?" He sat next to me and I placed my head back on top of my knees, shrugging.

"Is this about Johnny?" I tensed up as he mentioned my missing lovers name.

"Horseman, you got nothin' to worry about. I'm sure he's fine..." there was something in his voice that seemed off, especially for Dally.

I clenched my teeth, how would he know? He's been in jail multiple times and can't even keep up on his own health.

I set my legs down and got up, walking outside quickly onto the front porch. Sitting down on the concrete steps, I looked up into the sky. The sun was just setting, glowing that beautiful bright orange as always. It seemed brighter today though... like a fire burning it's way through wood.

I sighed,"I probably just scared him off... such a mess up..."

I look back up at my house and stand up. I started down the stairs and walked out onto the sidewalk, distancing myself away from the house. Walking down the street, I get father and farther away from it until I can barely see it.

The sky gets darker but I don't even think about it, I just keep walking.

"Ponyboy!" Someone calls out.

I stop in my tracks, immediately recognizing the voice. I turn slowly and look up from my spot on the ground.

A figure is running towards me. Smooth tan skin, big black eyes, fluffy thick black hair... Johnny.
