I looked up at the photo, mesmerized by how good the photo came out.
Setting down my phone, the screen lit up to show the notifications from Instagram.
[JohnCake]: Horsekid liked your photo. [JohnCake]: MickeyMousse liked your photo. [JohnCake]: pepsicola05 recently added to their story.
I walk out of the room, careful not to leave my phone behind, I just set it in my back pocket.
"Hey ma!" I yell into the kitchen where she has the music turned up and she was dancing to it while making fajitas.
"Yes?" She looks towards me and turns down the music.
"I'm going to meet Pony at the movie house," I feel the vibrations of notifications in my back pocket and I pull my phone out.
MESSAGES One minute ago Mio amore Hey babe, I'm down your street, hurry upppp
"Okay nevermind, he's walking me there," I say.
She nods her head, "Alright baby, be safe and no fights."
"Yeah I know. Is it okay if we come back here? He wants some fajitas so I told him he could stay the night," she smiles, knowing our secret.
"Of course, anything for my future son- in-law but is that why you asked me to make them tonight?"
"Yeah and stop calling him your future son-in-law, that's gonna jinx it, and it's only been a couple months."
"Yeah yeah, go have fun, love you!" She calls to me while I'm walking out the door.
"Love you too!" I yell, closing the door and looking down the sidewalk to see Ponyboy smiling like an idiot.
"Hey babe."
He wraps his arms around my waist and lifts me off of my porch.
"Ciao, mio amore," I say.
"I love when you speak Italian, it's really hot," he giggles, taking my hand in his.
"Thanks? I guess. Also, what movie were we gonna see today?"
"A horror movie," he says, starting to walk.
I giggle, "awesome! I love horror movies."
"Yeah I know, that's why I chose it."
•How was this? All of the books I started to write but now I'm just not, I'm making into one shots so I don't completely throw away hours of work. This book was called Vivir and I had more of it but I hated it and I couldn't write it anymore so here's the start of a book that will never be published•
