Good and bad

To say the media picked up on the proposal fast is an understatement. It was pointed out by a fan first when Taehyung had posted some photos from their party that night. Yoongi didn't do it purposefully but he had somehow kept his hand hidden in every photo. However in one the ring was barely visible and someone was quick to see it. Needless to say the photo spread like wildfire.

Neither of them have gone a single interview without being questioned on it. 'But Taehyung didn't Yoongi just come back to Korea? Don't you think this is a bit fast?' 'I've been waiting over a year to ask him actually.' 'Yoongi do you think this will impact your upcoming music at all?' 'Well Taehyung impacts me in every way possible so I'm sure it'll probably be the cause for a lot of the next album.' 'Taehyung, Why Yoongi?' 'Isn't it obvious?' 'Could you elaborate on that Taehyung?' 'But it's so obvious.'These were just a few of the questions. Yoongi felt relieved at lack of closed minded questions, almost forgetting it wasn't the same in Korea after living in the states for a year.

Taehyung was pleased with how much their fan groups mixed together and supported them. He would see some comments on his feed like 'I found this guy through suga and I'm so happy for him but I'm also jelly ^////^'. However his favorite thing was when people would bring up pictures from before he was a model and would go 'YALL THOUGHT I WAS WRONG BUT I KNEW HIM AND YOONGI WERE TOO CLOSE. I COULD FEEEL IT.' It was aggressive, but at the same time he felt proud that he showed how much he loved the older so easily.

It was nice for the two of them having all of this out, nice not having to hide it anymore. They still weren't showing too much pda but now they'd find it easy to hold hands in public, or easily let out an 'I love you' that wasn't in a hushed whisper. Yoongi wouldn't be the softie he was in private of course claiming "I'm a manly man to my fans, and I want to keep it that way." To which Taehyung would show him something with his twitter feed of a fan calling him adorable with a gif of him underneath. Yoongi would then cutely pout and make Taehyung want to hug him tightly. "It's not fair you're so cute all I want to do is hug you and kiss you and stuff but you won't let me." Taehyung would complain. "Hey I never said no I just said I get embarrassed doing that stuff in public." He'd respond making Taehyung hug him tight.

Yoongi is sure that this becoming public has made them grow even closer which is much better than the outcome he expected. He was scared it would stress them out and make them question their relationship, but maybe everything isn't like the movies.

It had brought many good things, however with good comes bad. It was a simple interview, this time with the two together. It had been the same questions about their engagement and relationship but then a certain topic popped up. "So tell me, how has what happened last year affected your relationship?" It took them a moment to realize what the interviewer was talking about at first. When they realized it both visibly tensed. "Well, even though Yoongi left for a year after it all happened we've only grown closer." Taehyung said. "Yea it, it helps having someone there who knows exactly how you feel." Yoongi continued. It was scary for both, talking about this. "Yoongi it must be really hard for you, after all that was your second time going through something like that." In that moment Yoongi thought this woman was out to get him. He swallowed dryly as it all slowly hit him. He couldn't even muster up the ability to speak, left to only nod and smile. He was thankful for Taehyung grabbing hold of his hand at that moment, although he was sure a bit of the reason was to calm himself down. "Taehyung do you ever worry that, that could be genetic?" Yoongi isn't one to take words too much too heart but in that moment he almost teared up.

"I'm sorry what kind of question is that?" Taehyung said. "Tae calm down it's ok, it's just a question." Yoongi mumbles to the younger trying to keep them both calm. It was easy to see she just wanted a reaction at this point. "Taehyung think about it, don't you think Yoongi could become like that." It took all the strength Taehyung had not to curse her out for asking such a dumb question. "No I don't, If anything I think he got all of his personality traits from his mom. She's a very nice woman, and she passed that kindness down to Yoongi. He's the kindest, sweetest most caring person I know and he could never stoop as low as that man." He'd calmly answer smirking at the annoyed look on the interviewer's face. "Did it anger you that Yoongi left after all of it happened?" Taehyung shakes his head. "You said it yourself it had been a lot for him, he needed that space. If he stayed I think it could've really hurt him honestly." He answers and the interviewer's face only grows more sour.

"Yoongi, how much did this all affect you? I'm sure it was horribly damaging." She asks. "Um, well yes it was." Yoongi answers voice tight. "Do you think your friends blame you for what happened then?" She asks and Yoongi's stomach drops. "I-" he tries to talk but the words can't come out. Yoongi feels sick as the interviewer makes a face of victory. "We've talked about that before actually. I try to remind him every day that's it not his fault, we all do actually." Taehyung says just as the tears well up in Yoongi's eyes. Yoongi nods quickly and he's never been happier to see someone's face drop.

In the car ride after the interview, they both cried. They shared no words they just cried in the back seat of the van silent as they held onto each other. Getting out of the van they hid their faces, not wanting to worry their faces with their tear stained cheeks. As they entered their apartment Taehyung let out the first audible sob out of the many to come from both parties. Yoongi could feel his vibrate aggressively and he knew he and Taehyung weren't the only ones bothered by this interview. The only thing that seemed to be able to cheer them up was Holly coming up to them and even then it was minor.

They spent the rest of the afternoon crying on the couch as the cuddled. Eventually Yoongi fell asleep, the events of the day tiring him completely. Taehyung had stayed awake, tears gone away but frown still prominent on his face. He was glad to have Yoongi close by him. He'd never tell the older but he's sure that his separation anxiety would make all of this worse. Of course his separation anxiety was a secret between himself and only himself. He doesn't want Yoongi to blame himself for more things nor does he want to put that kind of guilt on the older. For now he holds Yoongi as close as he can to his chest, trying to fall asleep as well so he can maybe feel a bit more at ease. However, in the end it proves to be useless and Taehyung finds himself blankly staring at the ceiling. He tries calming his breath and hopes his heart will calm down eventually. He doesn't want Yoongi to worry about him, he doesn't need the added stress.
