Taehyung's photo shoot had happened to fast for Yoongi's liking. It was only a three day trip thus he only got to show Taehyung a small amount of NYC. On the bright side he did get to introduce him to Joan. It was a little hard due to the language barrier however Yoongi found it cute when Taehyung tried to speak English. Joan was very ecstatic to meet Taehyung. "This is Taehyung? Why didn't you tell me you're dating a model!" Joan says excitedly. It's unsurprising to Yoongi, since he knew she loved seeing how people were captured by the camera. Yoongi chuckles anyways. "Sorry I guess I forgot to mention that somewhere." He says awkwardly scratching his neck. "Wait." Joan says taking hold of Yoongi's hand. "Are you two engaged now?" She says eyeing the ring.
Joan knows Yoongi isn't one to wear rings often, causing her questioning. Yoongi nods smiling as he does so. Joan squeals in happiness causes Taehyung to jump getting lost in the English. Yoongi explains that he told Joan about the engagement and Taehyung nods and smiles. After that they look around the city for a couple of hours before having to head back to the hotel to grab their bags and go back to Korea. While saying goodbye Joan tells Yoongi to email her from time to time. Yoongi nods promising just to do that.
The plain ride back goes smoothly and before they know it they're back in their usual routines. A week later Yoongi finds himself sitting on the roof of his apartment complex.
As the cold air of the night softly blows, Yoongi can't take his eyes off the sky. He knows he shouldn't be up, but he can't help it. He's lost thinking about everything that's happened in his life. How he's so lucky to meet the people he has, lucky to be engaged to Taehyung. He closes his eyes and lets out a thankful sigh to whoever led him to these people. Thanks whoever gave him the mother he has, whose so supportive and caring. For the friends who will always be by his side. For the caring loving fiancé that is Taehyung. He's thankful for them all.
"Couldn't sleep?" He hears someone say. Turning around he sees Namjoon. "I guess you could say that." He tells him as the taller walks over next to him. He sits down and places a six pack of beer between them. When Yoongi gives him a questioning look Namjoon goes to explain. "I came up here before with just one but I saw you here and decided to just get the whole thing so we could share." Yoongi nods before taking one for himself and opening it. "What's got you up." The older asks. "Remember how Seokjin and I were looking to adopt?" Namjoon starts and Yoongi nods.
"We met with someone expecting soon a couple months ago and the baby was born today. It's a girl. Jiwoo." Namjoon explains. "Congratulations!" Yoongi says ecstatically. He raises his beer tapping it against Namjoon with a quiet cheers. "Thanks." Namjoon says sheepishly. "Don't tell Seokjin I told you yet, he wants it to be a surprise." The younger says and Yoongi nods. "What's got you up?" Namjoon ask. Yoongi shrugs not sure what he even is thinking about. "Life." He answers eventually. It's quiet for a moment, both of them looking at the sky.
"Yoongi." The younger says and the other turns their head to them. "Do you love yourself?" The taller knows it's a loaded question but the phrase 'love yourself' has been stuck in his mind for months now. "Most times yes, but sometimes I wake up and all I can do is be angry with myself." Yoongi answers. The other nods not sure where to take the conversation. "You have to know how to love yourself in order to love others. Never forget that." Yoongi continues. Namjoon nods again.
"Hyung." He says. "I'm glad we met. I'm glad all of us met."
"Me too Namjoon, me too."
