Scarlett's POV
I wake up but I'm still asleep. I'm in a dark void which I remember quite well, considering the last time I was here, I was dead.
Table and chairs appear and then Hela, she looks like she hasn't aged a single day. But I guess that's apart of the goddess of death job description.
She smiles, "I hear a congratulation is in order. Please sit."
"Thanks, I'm nearly 2 months gone, it's starting to show now." I say as I sit down opposite her, "But I assume there is another reason you wanted to talk."
Her smile drops as she signs, "I'm afraid so. Do you know about the prophecies of Asgard? Specifically, the ones involving you."
I shake my head, confused, "No, I don't think so."
"The prophecies are your future and will happen, they always go in some form." She leans forward, her face serious, "Events have begun to escalate and I'm afraid, it's only a matter of time before things begin to fall into place. The prophecies will be fulfilled, they have to for Asgard's survival."
I nod, "Ok, so why are you coming to me now? what's about to happen?"
"I can't say, even I can't deny what will happen. But it's just.... You need to stay strong, because what will happen next will shake you and my father. You must stay strong or I fear the worst. I am so sorry."
"What do you mean?"
Suddenly everything blurs and I open my eyes. I'm back in my bed with Loki asleep next to me.
I sit up, trying to understand her meaning. Cryptic, so bloody cryptic. Why can't they ever just say what the prophecy is and what is about to happen?
"Are you alright?"
Loki sits up beside me, as I shrug, "I don't know. I had a visit from your daughter, she was trying to warn me. Something bad is going to happen."
He wraps an arm around me, "Everything will be fine. Hela sees many futures, many prophecies. I wouldn't worry."
Suddenly, the palace alarms go off and I raise my eyebrows, "Can I start worrying now?"
We quickly get out of bed and change before running out the room and straight into Thor.
"What's happening?" I ask.
"The Vault alarms have gone off, the soldiers are already on their way down there. Scarlett, you should stay her in your room."
I shake my head, "No way."
Loki chuckles, "You won't change her mind Thor, let's just go and see who the intruder is."
We go down to the vault and we are horrified to see the Asgardian soldiers slaughtered, their bodies all across the floor.
"Who could have done this?"
We go inside and I feel my heart stop and Loki moves in front of me instantly. Thanos stands in the middle of the corridor, holding a golden gauntlet.
"What's that?" I whisper.
"The infinity Gauntlet, it's designed to hold the infinity stones. And use them all at their full potential." Loki quickly explains.
My eyes widen and then he sees us.
He smirks, "The Odinson brothers, and the Infinity herself. The powers that run through you."
Loki glares at him, "Surrender Thanos, stop before any more blood is shed."
"You can't stop what is going to happen, the prophecies must not be fulfilled." He remarks as he punches the floor and a wave of energy hits us.
I fall to the ground next to Loki while Thor charges at Thanos, only to be chucked into a wall.
Loki turns to me, "Run and don't look back."
Knowing it's pointless to argue, I nod as Loki gets up and goes over to fight Thanos as I make to run. That's when I hear a bang and Loki hits the ground, coughing blood.
"Loki!!"
I prepare to use my magic, feeling the power surge as Thanos comes towards me, "The Infinity, do you know your place yet? I had no idea you were the infinity until you blasted me out of my own domain. I must stop you from fulfilling the prophecies. So this is going to hurt."
Before I can take another step, he grabs me and chucks me across the room. I hit the wall and then I hit the floor. My body begins to sting and then I feel so much pain from... oh no...the baby.... I can't.
My vision begins to blur and the last thing I hear is my name being called before I pass out.
...
I begin to gain consciousness but the pain is gone and I can hear faint muffled crying. And I feel lighter as I open my eyes and I'm in the Healers. I see Frigga first, she's crying into Thor's chest. Then I feel my chest and then it hits me, like a blade to my chest.
I've lost the baby. No... no... why? I hold back tears as I sit up slowly, my body aching slightly as I feel strange.
Then I see Loki, standing by the window staring into the sky with tears in his eyes and his face, contorted with pain. I did this. I should have ran, I should have ran.
The healer comes over to me and begins talking but I'm not listening. Why should I? She's just going to tell me what I already know and all I can think about is Loki. He looks at me and forces a smile but it's fake. There's too much pain in his eyes. I took away his daughter or his son. I gave him happiness and took it away. If I had stayed in our room....
Loki then turns away and storms out, tears flooding down his face and the place is silent. The only sound is Frigga's muffled tears.
