Chapter 60 Betrayal

Scarletts POV

The infinity war is over and never have I felt such peace over Asgard. Thanos is defeated and is gone. The gauntlet is destroyed and the stones have been returned to where they belong and everyone is happy. Especially with me and Loki back on the throne and the realms are at peace, no more threats. Asgard is back to normal.

We had a celebration that night and Elena was the star of the show. She floated in the air, dancing and using her magic. It was brilliant. We spent the night together as a family and sleeping next to my husband and daughter, I never felt so happy nor alive.

As for the Avengers and the Guardians, they stayed for a few days of celebrations before leaving to return to Earth and the Galaxy. Hela moved in as well as Amora and Elena has her special room next to ours.

But once the celebrations were said and done, we returned to ruling the kingdom. Loki has been trying to sort out security defences and has been going to endless council meeting each day trying to sort out Asgard. But he makes time for Elena and Hela.

Today hopefully will be the last one for a while so he left early. Elena is spending some time with her older sister learning some spells so Amora suggested that we go on a horse ride together.

She knows I have been on edge the past few days as I have this really bad feeling that I can't shake. She is right, I need to get some fresh air and relax.

We reach the cliffs of Asgard where the waterfalls flow into the dark abyss of space and its beautiful and quiet. It really is a place of peace. I climb off my horse and go over to the edge and Amora does the same.

"Its been a while since I have been here." I say with a smile, "Its still so beautiful."

Amora chuckles, "Yeah, same. I used to come here a lot, the peace used to help me think. I come here normally when I'm struggling to decide whether to kill someone or not."

I chuckle, "Did you come back here when you decided to burn me alive? Or when you saved me from Thanos?"

She nods, "Yeah, I did. But I came back recently, a few days after Thanos was defeated. I wasn't sure what to do."

"About what?"

She smirks, "What I should do now? What do I want now? And I decided what I have always wanted hasn't changed."

My eyes widen, "What would that be?"

She turns to me, "Kill you, take over Asgard and keep Loki and your daughter as a price."

I feel my anger flare as I step back, "You want to kill me now? After 7 years of helping me and you were going to betray me the whole time?"

She nods with a sinister smile on her face, "If it helps, its nothing personal. I really like you and appreciate everything you have done for me. But I want the throne and that hasn't changed."

"After everything, you are really going to do this Amora? I gave you a new life and now you are throwing it all away because of a bloody throne!!!" I yell as I shake my head in disgrace.

"Oh Saviour." She chuckles, "I didn't want a new life, I wanted to defeat Thanos and I couldn't do that on my own but you could. I helped you to help myself, now I can kill you and take the throne."

I move away from her, my hands begin to glow bright purple as I feel my magic inside of me getting stronger, "I guess you forgot? I am a lot stronger then you and I won't let you kill me, take over Asgard and take my husband and daughter. And even if you somehow defeat me, Loki is still King and he won't give up the throne or surrender to you."
