chapter 5

Erika's POV:

I sat at the table in the dining room as Jax came out of his room walking towards me, calling me. I looked at him and kissed his forehead. "Good morning, cutie!" He smiled at me and kissed me on my cheek as I picked him up. I went over to the fridge and noticed there was no milk for Jax. He drinks milk every morning for breakfast, so he always has to have it. I walked into Tessa's room and saw her just getting up. I smiled at her and put Jax down on the floor.

Erika: Good morning, T.
Tessa: Morning, Erika.
Erika: How'd you sleep?
Tessa: I slept great, how about you?
Erika: As did I. Hey Tessa, may I ask you for a favor?
Tessa: Sure.
Erika: Can you watch Jax real quick while I make a quick run to the grocery store to get some milk for him. We ran out and he always has to have his milk so.
Tessa: Yeah sure! (looks at Jax and smiles as she picks him up) Anything for this little cutie! (Jax smiles at her and then lays his head down on her shoulder)
Erika: Great, Thanks so much! And do you need anything from the grocery store while I'm at it?
Tessa: Nope, thanks. But if I do, I'll let you know.
Erika: Alright, sounds good. Thanks, T!

I then hug Tessa and kiss Jax on the cheek and quickly start heading to the store. When I arrived at the store, I immediately went to the dairy section looking for the milk. After I grabbed the milk I decided to buy some snacks home for everyone so I went down to the snack aisle. I looked around and tried to reach up for a bag of chips that were on the top shelf that I couldn't reach.. I then heard a voice... "Need help, ma'am?" A fimiliar voice... A voice I haven't heard in about 4 years.. I hesitated to turn around because I was afraid of what would happen.. But I couldn't just stand there, struggling and looking stupid. I slowly turned around and saw just who I thought it was... Jake Paul. He was holding his vlog camera in one hand and holding a bag of donuts in the other. He looks at me and widens his eyes.

Jake: Wait.. Erika?
Erika: Jake...
Jake: I thought you went back to Nashville after I left for Ohio. That's what everyone was saying, that's what I heard.
Erika: I did go back to Nashville.. I just recently came back here about a week ago or so.
Jake: (he smiles at Erika) We should hang out.
Erika: Oh.. Yeah sure.. If you want.

He then asks to see my phone and we exchange numbers.

Jake: We can go hang out tonight. I have nothing to do.
Erika: Yeah... Okay.
Jake: Cool, meet me at your favorite froyo place today at 6?
Erika: Sure...
Jake: Cool, cool.

He then put the bag of donuts down for a moment then reached for the back of chips that I was attempting to grab before we had spoken and handed them to me, quickly picking up his bag of donuts right after.

Jake: It was really great seeing you, Rik.
Erika: (nervously smiles at him) Haha yeah, it was nice seeing you.

He smiles at me then walks away. I watch him as he walks away and then begin walking to the front of the store to pay for my items.. Wow.. What have I gotten myself into...? I'm seeing Jake today, why did I agree to this?!
