chapter 19

Erika's POV:

I was downstairs with Tessa eating a snack while the boys were out and Jax was taking a nap. Tessa then starts to check her phone and then looks back up at me.

Tessa: Do you watch Jake's vlogs?
Erika: Yeah, when I have time.
Tessa: Well did you watch his vlog today?
Erika: Nope. I don't have time.
Tessa: Well you have time right now.

Tessa then gets up and grabs me from my arm and takes me upstairs back to my room and sits me down in front of my opened laptop on my desk.

Tessa: Watch Jake's vlog.

I log into my laptop and go on YouTube and type in "Jake Paul" and click on his most recent video.

Erika: Why am I watching this?
Tessa: Its important.

I watch Jake's vlog and towards the end of the vlog he starts getting serious... I watch and listen closely to what he says and all the words that come out of his mouth have me in complete shock. I look at Tessa and she looks back at me with a slight smile on her face.

Erika: This is about me... And he was at our spot.
Tessa: Yup.
Erika: What am I supposed to do now? Go talk to him or what?
Tessa: Well... I don't know. That's up to you.

I look at her and think to myself. Just then we heard all the boys coming in downstairs starting all this chaos as always.

Erika: (looks at Tessa) I think I should talk to him.

I look at her for awhile then finally get up and rush downstairs to find Jake.

Erika: Jake
Jake: (looks back at Erika and stood vlogging and goes towards her)
Erika: I love you, Jake. And you know that. What you did was really sweet. And I appreciate you for that. I don't know what it is about me.. But like maybe I'm just not ready to start dating. But when I am. I'll let you know..
Jake: (looks at Erika) Okay, Erika.. (smiles slightly at Erika)

Jake's POV:

The fact that she still loves me does make me feel a lot better. But I just want her to be mine. Forever, and I️ feel like sometimes I can't be patient but I have to be.

[Later that day]

I took my vlog camera out as we told the Jake Paulers what we were about to go do. Chance, Chance's girlfriend, Anthony, Kade, a new Team 10 memeber, Nathan, my videographer and I were all going to go to a haunted insane asylum to play the ouija board. Just then.. The girls popped up in the camera.

Erika: Hey, we wanna go.
Tessa: Yeah, can we?

I turn off my camera when Erika is on to respect her privacy since she doesn't want to be in vlogs. Anthony walks over to Tessa and wraps his arm around her.

Anthony: Yeah you can go. (looks at Tessa and kisses her cheek)
Jake: (looks at Erika) I'm vlogging it though.
Erika: You can vlog it, I don't care anymore.
Jake: Well okay.. And what about Jax?
Erika: I can call up the babysitter right now. She'll come in a few mins.
Jake: Okay then.

Erika called up the babysitter and then I turned my vlog camera back on and wrapped my arm around Erika.

Jake: Jake Paulers, this is Erika Costell.
Erika: (smiles at the camera) Poptag.
Jake: (looks at Erika and smiles) Sure why not. You can have 3. Guys make sure to follow her, she's cool I guess. (smiles at Erika and does the poptag motion with his hand) Poptag, poptag, poptag. (wraps his arm back around Erika) Okay well now that I've given her some poptags we can continue. Anyways Jake Paulers. This is Erika, the other girl who is living in the Team 10 mansion. You'll probably see a lot of her around because I see to always be around her.. (smiles and looks into Erika's eyes)
Erika: (smiles at Jake and looks at him as he stares at her) Stopppp!! (playfully pushes his face away from her so that he stops looking at her)
Jake: Sorry, Rik. You're just very beautiful.
Erika: (smiles at Jake) You're so annoying.

The babysitter finally gets here and I turn off my vlog camera as the crew and I head to the Team 10 van and all get in. I take the drivers seat and Erika takes the passengers seat. Everyone else sat in the back. I drove out of the house and headed to the insane asylum. Once we reach our location we all get out of the van and I begin to vlog. We find an entrance into the asylum and find a place and quickly set up the ouija board. We then start to hear soft footsteps. I look over at Chance and Anthony and they're holding their girlfriends close to them. I look at Erika and she looks at me, I point the camera to myself as I wrap my arm around Erika.

Jake: Its going to be okay.

I kiss the side of the head quickly and continue to hold her close. I give my camera to Nathan and we all then sit down around the board and all of us play. As we continue to play we continue to hear noises. I feel Erika holding onto my arm as we play, which I highly enjoyed. I look up at the camera then we all hear this loud bang. Everyone jumped up and got up.

Chance: Bro let's say, goodbye. I don't wanna be here anymore.

I look at Chance and everyone sits back down ready to say goodbye to the board as I continue standing up and look around the place. We all then start to hear footsteps that begin to get louder by the second. I quickly get down and place my fingers where they're supposed to be.

Jake: Alright fine let's say goodbye and get the fuck out of here.

We then say goodbye and Kade quickly picks up the board game. Chance and Anthony, along with their girlfriends are the first to leave and head out for the van. I then look at Erika and she looks terrified.

Erika: Jake.. I'm scared.
Jake: Dont be, I would never let anything happen to you.

I grab her hand and hold her hand as we leave. We leave the asylum along with Kade and Nathan following behind us and run to the van where we quickly go in and head home.

Erika's POV:

That night, I laid in my bed, looking up at the ceiling. I couldn't sleep at all. I was still too scared of everything that happened at the asylum. I felt the need of being held and protected. I got up and snuck into Jake's room. He was already asleep, shirtless and in only his boxers... He looked so cute sleeping honestly, it made me smile. I walked over towards his bed and tapped him and whispered.

Erika: Jake. Jake. Get up.

He groans and moves a bit and turns around and begins to open his eyes, looking up at me.

Erika: Its me, Erika.
Jake: Yeah.

He spoke in a very cute sleepy voice that kinda made my heart melt.

Jake: What's up?
Erika: I'm scared. I can't sleep.

He looked up at me and moved over and patted down the spot next to him.

Jake: C'mon.

He then lifted up the covers allowing me to get under. I hesitantly get under the covers next to him and face him. He then puts down the covers and lays there looking at me.

Jake: Dont worry. I'll protect you. Like I said earlier, I would never let anything happen to you.. And that, I'd do a thousand times over.

I look at him and smile.

Erika: I always feel safe with you.
Jake: You always will be. Now, c'mon, let's go to sleep.

He then instantly fell asleep and began to snore which made me chuckle a bit at his snoring. As he slept, he wrapped his arms around me. I wasn't bothered by it, I kinda enjoyed it, actually. I move closer to him and look at him. I whisper... "I love you, Jake. A thousand times over."
