chapter 36

Jake's POV:

I barge into my home hoping to find Tessa close by so I wouldn't have to waste time finding her myself. Luckily I find her walking down the stairs. I rush towards the stairs as she takes her last step down.

Jake: TESSA!
Tessa: Jake.
Jake: I need your help!
Tessa: With what?
Jake: I need to know where Erika is.

She sighs and looks up at me.

Tessa: I don't think she wants to see you right now.
Jake: Please Tessa, help me!
Tessa: I can't be of much help because I don't know her exact location.
Jake: Tessa...

I looked into her eyes and begged her trying to make her feel what I was feeling.

Jake: You don't know what it's been like. I need Erika in my life and I want to prove to her that she's my everything. I cant do that if I can't see her. Please let me see her or help her or whatever just... I wanna see Erika.

She looked into my eyes with such sincerity and slightly smiled.

Tessa: Fine, I'll help you.
Jake: YES! Thanks so much, Tessa!
Tessa: What do you need me to do?
Jake: Just call or text Erika... Tell her you wanna meet up at the hollywood sign in a couple of hours around 7 pm, when the sunsets. Tell her you do though not me because she won't she if it's me. I know that for a fact. Also tell her to leave Jax with a babysitter so that she comes alone. I have something planned and I just need you to get her there for me.
Tessa: Okay. But you owe me big time for this because she might hate me for doing this to her when I clearly know she's pissed at you.

I look at Tessa and huge smile begins to form on my face as I go over to her and hug her.

Jake: Yes!!! Thank you so much.
Tessa: You're welcome, Jake. I just hope you don't fuck this up because I hate seeing Erika hurt and unhappy.
Jake: I won't. I promise.

After that conversation with Tessa I immediately go upstairs to get dressed into a very nice shiny, red tux and pick up Erika's promise ring from the drawer in the nightstand where I had last placed it and put it in a pocket inside my jacket so that I could easily find it. I quickly fixed my hair and headed straight to the store to get everything I needed for this event. I then drove up to our special spot. As soon as I arrived, I got out of my car and started setting up. I bought a ton of small candles and placed them on the ground, organizing them so that the candles end up in a form of a huge heart. I bought a bouquet of roses and placed them in the middle of the heart for now. I rushed to my car and turned it on so that I could plug in my phone onto the aux chord. I scrolled through my phone and clicked on our song which I played on repeat. I then headed back to the candles and picked up my lighter and lit all of them up one by one. Once I finished, I carefully took a step into the middle of the heart and picked up the bouquet of flowers, checking the time quickly and putting them behind my back as I awaited my one true love as the time came closer.

Erika's POV:

I got a text from Tessa telling me that she wanted to hang out and to meet her up at the hollywood sign. I agreed to meet and her and shortly after then called Jax's babysitter. As I began to get ready to meet Tessa, Jax ran up to me.

Jax: Mommy?
Erika: Yes, sweetie?
Jax: I miss daddy's house... I... I... I miss all my toys and my really really big room. And I miss daddy too.

I kneeled down and faces him so that I could see eye to eye with him. He looked at me and I could see the tears forming in his eyes. I looked at him and immediately felt guilty about just leaving like that. I explained to him why but aj guess he's just too young to really fully understand. I hugged him for a moment then pulled away to wipe his tears away.

Erika: I know you miss it, baby. And we'll go back to get all your toys if that's what you want. I'm sorry that your life is so complicated at such a young age. There's just somethings you won't be able to understand until you fall in love with someone. I wish I knew how to fix everything wrong in this world just for you but sometimes, somethings just can't be fixed. But I promise, everything will be okay. I love you, Jax.

I smiled at him and he looked up at me with those beautiful big eyes that I so much adore. He gave me a small smile and nodded. I kissed him on his forehead leaving a slight mark of my lips from my light pink lipstick. He looked up at me and I giggled.

Jax: Mommy!!! (he groaned)
Erika: Sorry Jax. (chuckles)

I smear off the lipstick mark from his forehead and he goes off back to go play with the toys he did have here. I finished getting ready for our casual outing, wearing a super cute white casual romper with pockets and a small bow going around the waistline. As soon as I finished I heard a knock at the door and I rushed to go open it. I greeted the usual babysitter, letting her in.

Erika: Thanks for coming in such short notice.. And sorry it isn't at the usual house, Jax and I are staying in a hotel for right now...

I spoke to her avoiding eye contact as I was explaining to her. She looked at me with such an understanding, genuine smile and nodded. "It's okay, I understand things get rough sometimes." I smile at her and once again thank her.

Erika: I'll be back in a couple of hours I'm guessing, maybe? I don't really know, but I won't be long.

She nodded at me and I smiled at her and gave Jax one last kiss on the forehead.

Erika: Behave, Jax.

He nodded and then I waved them both goodbye as I headed out the door and out to my car to go meet Tessa at the hollywood sign. I drove up and to the location and was surprised at what I was seeing. I didn't know what to do or say. I got out of the car and looks straight ahead of me.

Erika: Jake?

[Sorry it took me like over a month to update. I've had writers block so I didn't know what to write nor did I have any ideas for a moment. And I've also just been very unhappy with myself lately so I wasn't in a mood to write. But I am very happy with this chapter and I hope you guys enjoyed it. Jerika coming back soon???.... Hmm idkkk maybe??!?! Hopefully I'm more consistent with the next few updates. Again... REALLY SORRYYYY it's so late. Love y'all. ❤️]
