chapter 35

Jake's POV:

I walked back into my house after just letting the love of my life drive away to wherever I knew nothing of. I ran up the stairs and walked right into Erika's room and looked around. Everything was still here except her clothes. I looked to her desk and found the promise ring i gave her on the desk sitting right in the middle. There was nothing else around it so it was pretty easy to identify. I walked over to the ring and picked it up and looked at it for a while before I began to get emotional thinking about the day i gave it to Erika. I looked down, disappointed in myself for letting her go once again and walked out of her room and into mine to place the ring in the drawer of my nightstand.

Erika's POV:

Jax and I just sat in the hotel room with all of our things. He sat down on the couch and watched his little cartoons on the television. I sat beside him, cuddling him into my arms as I just wanted to keep him as close as possible during this time. I held him in my arms and laid my head back feeling stressed. I cant believe what my life has become in just the past couple of hours.

Jax: Mommy? (looks up at Erika)

I face my head back down and lay my eyes upon my beautiful blonde son.

Erika: Yes sweetheart?
Jax: Why did we leave daddy's house?

I looked into at his beautiful greenish-brownish eyes and was at a loss of words. He looked so sad yet so curious and confused. I didn't know how to respond but I knew I had to come up with something within the next minute.

Erika: Your father and I just need a break from eachother for a little while I guess. And I of course couldn't leave you behind with him. You're my everything I need you here with me.

He looked up at me and smiled a bit.

Jax: Well why do you and daddy need a break?
Erika: Because Jax, sometimes two people need a little bit of space in order to realize their true feelings.

Jax nodded and paid his attention back onto his cartoons. I kissed the top of his head and started stroking his curly blonde hair for a bit until my phone began to ring and vibrate a couple of times. I picked up my phone and looked at the notifications. It was entirely just fans tagging and mentioning me in comments on social media. I opened up my instagram and saw my tags and mentions under multiple pictures and videos of what seems to be of Jake and Alissa from today. Damn it hasn't even been a whole entire day and Jake is already seeing Alissa again? She literally just left this morning. I gently got Jax out of my embrace and got up from the couch and into the kitchen. I sat up against the counter top and continued to look through my phone, I laid my eyes on a picture of Jake and Alissa kissing which irritated me and maybe set a little flame of jealousy... Okay maybe a large flame set of jealousy. I got off of social media and decided to text Tessa, probably unaware of everything that has happened in the past 24 hours.

Erika: Hey T...

I looked down st my phone as I waited for a response. Luckily Tessa always responded as soon as possible when I text her.

Tessa: What's up? What's been going on with you and Jake lately? Are you okay? Where are you? Is Jax with you?
Erika: Jake and I just need a little break. I don't know if I will be back. And yes I'm okay, I'm at a hotel with Jax.
Tessa: Are you okay Rik?
Erika: Why wouldn't I be?
Tessa: Because I've been on social media and seen everything that's been posted about Jake in the last hour.
Erika: Well Jake and I are broken up, he can do whatever he feels like doing.
Tessa: Oh okay..
