chapter 14

Jake's POV:

I was in my room, laying in bed just looking up at the ceiling.. I haven't spoken to Erika since that night and I really just think I should. I got up and got ready. I then grab my vlog camera and do my intro, as well as waking the other members up with a prank as usual. When I was done vlogging, I went into my room and grabbed my car keys... I had decided to go talk to Erika, I miss her and well, I just think we should talk. I headed to my car and I saw Alissa at the front door with all of her things. I began to walk past her but then she grabbed my arm, trying to pull me back to her. I look back at her and she looks at me.

Alissa: Jake, I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said or did. I love you and only you and you know that.
Jake: No, I don't know that because you've cheated on me twice with my own brother! And you said you loved me both times.. So Alissa, I'm kinda confused on how you actually feel about me.
Alissa: I love you.. That's how I feel.
Jake: No, that's not how you feel. Goodbye, Alissa.. It was great while it lasted.

I places my hand on the door knob for the front door then she said something that stopped my tracks.

Alissa: Please. I will do anything a thousand times over for you to forgive me.

I thought to myself.. "a thousand times over" that's supposed to be something meaningful and special.. She has ruined it.

Jake: No. (looks at Alissa again)
Alissa: Jake, well where am I supposed to go?
Jake: I don't care, just not here in my house. You're just not staying here. And I want you out already by the time I get back... Goodbye, Alissa. For real this time.

I walked out the house, not saying anything afterwards or not looking back and got into my car, driving to Erika's place.

Erika's POV:

I️ was setting up the table for dinner and then sat down, setting the plates of food down. I pick up Jax and sit him down in his seat as Tessa takes her seat. I then take my seat and look over at Tessa.

Erika: Its been days and Jake still hasn't spoken to me.. I was right Tessa...
Tessa: Maybe he just needs time to think... I mean after all, it was just thrown at him all at once. He goes from being a normal young man with a successful career to being a father in one day.. A father to a son he didn't know he had. Its kinda a lot to take in, Rik. You don't know that, maybe he just needed time. So be patient.
Erika: You're right, I guess.

I sigh slightly then all of a sudden we hear a knock on the door.

Erika: (looks at Tessa) Who's that?
Tessa: I️ think it's Anthony, he was going to come over today. I'll get it.
Erika: Oh, okay.

She got up and went to the front door then returned a minute later.

Tessa: Hey, Erika.. Its Jake... And he asked if you and him could talk.

When she said that, I got this kind of happy, excited, nervous feeling inside me. I was actually kind of shocked he came back... I didn't think he would. I quickly got up as she walked back to the table. I slowly made my way to the front door and faced Jake.. Eye to eye.

Jake: Hey.
Erika: Hey...

I closed the front door and stepped outside, closer to him. He looked at me, and I couldn't help but smile when I noticed his eyes on me.

Jake: So... Well.. Is this why you moved back to Nashville?
Erika: Yeah... The main reason..
Jake: Why didn't you tell me before I left for Ohio?
Erika: I found out the day you left.. I didn't know how to tell you... I was kind of panicking, Jake. I wasnt even sure about what I was going to do. I️...

All of a sudden during all of my babbling, I felt Jake's embrace. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight.

Jake: Its okay. I forgive you for not telling me.. I get it..

I looked up at him then let go of his embrace.

Jake: Let me help you with him... I mean after all, he's my son..
Erika: You're really gonna stick around?
Jake: I love you, Erika Costell. Of course, even more now that I know we have a son together..

I look up at him and smile.

Jake: Erika.. I'm sorry I left and didn't contact you for days or so. I just didn't know how to take it, its all very new to me. I didn't think I'd have the responsibility of a child until years later...
Erika: Its okay.. I honestly was just prepared for you not to come back.. I doubted you coming back since you left that night..
Jake: Well, I would never leave you. I will always come back to you, no matter what. (smiles down at Erika)
Erika: (smiles at Jake and hugs him)
Jake: Hey, Rik...
Erika: Yeah?
Jake: Can I meet him?
Erika: Of course.

[i just want to thank everyone who wished/hoped for me to get better! i do feel a lot better today, so thank you guys! i love all your support and love! i will try to get back to writing daily again for you guys, but i'm very busy with school at the moment so i haven't had much time to write. but i will try and write at least a little something for you guys everyday... if i can!]
