'You had one job Blade, this wasn't even the hardest one you've been on how could you screw it up?'

Mr Jacobs stood in front of me in a black suit shoulders bent forward supported by his wrinkled hands that were placed on the table. I glared at his hands while he screamed at me about my recent job: the five guys I killed yesterday. Or was it four?

'How could you leave one out? You said you could handle more than two people alone Blade, what happened?'

He was my supplier. He gave me the guns, I pulled the trigger. He had people he didn't like, I had some free time I didn't like and 'a talent' to use a knife as he called it. It was a win-win. I needed Mr Jacobs. Disappointing him was not an option. He paid my rent and not to mention covers up for me when I find myself in sticky situations. Much like the one I found myself in today. At this very moment.

'There was one guy. He was already on the floor not breathing when I got to him. I crossed out all the possibilities of him being alive so I left. I can go after him.' I finally got a chance to say.

'No need.' Jacobs said with a smile on his face. This confused me. He cleaned up my messes sometimes but when I messed up like this I always had to run after my own tail.

'He's already been taken care of' he continued. Then he started walking towards he's own door, about to open it up for me to leave I presumed. I got up from my chair and began walking forward, irritated by the fact that he called me in to tell me a whole bag of nothing. What had I gained from this briefing? I noticed my boot laces had undone themselves and knelt down to tie them up. The door open and I as I lifted my head up I saw an unfamiliar individual standing in the way. Another one of Jacob's minions? No he looked too wealthy for that. Jacobs worked with the poor and dangerous. It was he's motto. This guy had on a dark blue suit with silk blue shirt and a dark blue tie. He wore dirty brown leather shoes.

He had a real friendly smile so strong that I almost wanted to return it.

'And this is?' I said to Mr Jacobs.

'Tanaka' the guy said and reached out he's hand to me. I stared at it like it was some dirty rag. Mr Jacobs walked over and stood next to him. He grinned at me then placed his hand on Tanaka's shoulder. Tanaka gave him a cold look and Jacobs slowly removed his hand and opted to place it in his pockets instead.

'This here is your new assignment Blade.' He said. 'Hah, I'm giving you an upgrade.' He finished.

Upgrade? I never thought there were upgrades in this world. What did that job description even include? Isn't killing just killing, what improvement could possibly be put there?

'What do you mean? I asked him, turning around to face him as he moved back to sit at his desk. The old man he was. He scratched a wrinkle on his 56 year old face. It almost seemed like he was trying to flatten it.

'Well, my dear. Tanaka will tell you that much. All you do is follow direction.' he proceed by turning his leather black chair around so that was all we could see until a pale hand arose from beneath and waved us off.

'Leave' he finally instructed and the doors behind me opened.

'But....' I wanted to argue then decided not to. It wouldn't change anything anyway. Walking out I noticed how Tanaka stood completely still. Weren't we supposed to leave together?

'I'll be just out,' he answered my question.

As I left the doors followed and I walked out of the building really fast as if I was escaping. I sat down on the second last stair and watched as Tanaka's limo pulled up in front in the Anthony Works building. The driver opened his door walked out and opened the passenger door. He folded his gloved arms and stood there staring at the street like he was watching a new episode of his favourite show on TV.

'You have to do that every day?' I asked him, he didn't budge and he didn't bother answering either. I couldn't tell if he had heard me. His eyes were covered by the black shades he wore. He looked like Mr Black from the men in black only less official.

My phone vibrated and instantly I thought of Shaun. I hadn't seen him since last night. Jacobs probably drugged him and dropped him off at his place. I should call him I thought. I reached for my back pocket where I had placed the mobile. I heard footsteps behind me as I dialled Shaun's number. Suddenly a hand grabbed the phone from my hand.

'I don't think so young lady.'

'Hey!' I protested. Taking away my phone meant I couldn't keep contact with anyone. This Tanaka guy was becoming a pest really quickly.

'Get in.' he ordered. I didn't move. He looked at me for a few seconds then proceeded to enter his vehicle. I followed shortly afterwards. I had never been in a limo before, what was I doing in one now? The inside was just as black as the outside. It had light in the roof and tinted windows making it feel like it was night outside. The floor though; that was a different. It was a custom made art piece. It gave off the effect of a ride in the sky, probably on a cloud.

'Where are we going anyway?' I asked sounding more like a child than I intended.

'To your house, 16 Pansy street right?' Tanaka replied.

'What? Are you insane?!' I screamed. Tanaka stood at my apartment door surveying my house. He looked like he was mentally listing all the things he could change in a minute, but still looking at it like it was a normal house, which it was.

'You want me to go where with you? I can't just up and leave Tanaka.'

'And why not Jacobs said you had no family here anyway?' he said carelessly. I hesitated before answering. Jacobs had classified me to an assignment?

'Yeah but... I have friends.' I swallowed the word friends a little as I said it.

'Who, that shabby guy we caught you with yesterday?' he laughed. The way he said caught was like Shaun and I were doing something wrong.

'Tell me Blade, you two an item?' he asked smirking. I wished I could slap it off his face but he was strong I could tell. He wasn't very big in size but he looked built and powerful enough to at least injure me. I killed people when they least expect it, it's easier that way. He looked always ready for a brawl. I let it slide and walked over to my bed; I placed my head in my hands and breathed out.

'Is that everything?' Tanaka asked turning to walk out.

'What are you even doing here?' I raised my eyebrow in sudden realisation.

'I've just hired you to kill a couple people for Me.' he said picking his nails.

'Important people?'

'Duh'

'How many?'

'50'

'50!'

'Yeah now are you ready or not?' He said then scoffed.

'Just give me a minute' I answered. He closed the door behind him and locked it as he did.
