here is a little bit more for those of you reading it :)

I woke not remembering falling asleep, I looked over at Rose. She was fast asleep in the corner, I don’t know how she could sleep so well in this situation. I decided to go outside and see what it was like in the school yard, god it was cold! Pulling my blanket tighter around me I looked over the edge of the building. I didn’t know what to think, part of me imagined the zombies sleeping like babies on the grass. But this was real life! They seemed to have calmed down or maybe they had killed everyone. Not good. They were just wondering around not doing anything, some made weird groans and growls here and there which I thought sounded funny but that was it. It was still dark and I was thinking about what strategy would be best if we wanted to get anywhere. We had weapons and ammunition but we need food more than anything, we could go over to the canteen. I looked over to the building it didn’t seem to have that many zombies surrounding it. Strange.

It was 5.00am according to my watch when it started to brighten up, walking over to Rose back in the greenhouse. I noticed that there was no sound; I looked around wondering what was going on when I stopped at the greenhouse. I couldn’t see Rose inside, my heart skipped a beat. I thought that somehow a zombie got onto the roof and took her, but no I would have heard that. Walking towards the back of the greenhouse I heard something move. “Rose! Stop messing around, I’m not in the mood.” This was not the time for her to be messing around. Before I could walk any further a huge growl came out from behind the greenhouse and jumping around the corner was Rose. Pinning her on the wall with one hand against her throat and a knife in the other pointing straight at her heart I took a deep breath. “That’s not funny Rose! I could have killed you!” letting go of her and watching her hit the floor I walked towards the edge of the building and sat down on the edge. “Hahahaha, come on melody that was hilarious! You should have seen your face.” I was so annoyed with her, I could have killed her. I could never live with that, she is my best friend. “You could be dead right now; I would be alone and probably kill myself because of what I had done.” That was probably over doing it a bit but I wanted to let her know what I cared about her that much. “You wouldn’t have done it. I know you too well.” She said as she sat down next to me. “You don’t know that Rose, what if I didn’t see your face until after I’d stabbed you!” I didn’t want to think like that so I changed the subject. “So, how are we going to get to the canteen?”

It was about half an hour later and we had come up with a plan to hopefully get over to the canteen safely. Standing up, I asked Rose if we were going to take the roof to the canteen. “Are we taking the roof? I think it will be faster and easier.” I walked over to the edge of the building to see how far of a jump it was going to be, wow. That’s far; I looked back at Rose to find her running towards me. “Get out the way!” she screamed as she jumped into the air, and landed on the roof next to the building. Shit! I’m going to have to do that. “Come on its not so bad, just take a long run and jump!” Rose shouted from the other side. I took more than a few steps back just to make sure I had the best run I could, and ran. Concentrating on placing my feet in the right place and not looking at the distance I had to make. I jumped. All of a sudden I felt the gravel on the roof top on my hands as I rolled to absorb the impact with my body. Ugh I let out a huge sigh of relief; I thought I wasn’t going to make it. I mean I have made jumps like that before but it was during training and it wasn’t 15 feet in the air. “See I told you that you would make it.” Rose said to me as she walked towards me and offered me her hand; I grabbed it and pulled myself up. “Yeah, yeah. Come on which building next?” I asked looking over towards the canteen. It wasn’t much further, that was the main jump we had to make. We discussed the best route, we had to climb up the ladder at the end of the building and jump the next 3 buildings but they weren’t that far apart, and then we could climb down the railings on the side of the last building. And we were there, all that was separating us from the canteen was a giant fence and about 10 zombies.

thanks for reading my book, I hope you are enjoying it so far :)
