Rose’s P.O.V
I got up and realised that Melody was not responding. I checked to see if she was okay, but looking at her head I saw that she had a lot of blood pooling around it. She must have banged it pretty hard when she fell! I took off the backpack she was wearing and went through it and found a blanket, I folded it up and put it under her head to soak up some of the blood while I looked for a first aid kit. I stood back up and looked around, the only light we had was from the sun shining through the big hole in the roof that we just fell through. I stood still for a moment trying to focus on any noise and there wasn’t any, hopefully this meant that there were no zombies lurking around this house. I didn’t know if there would be any first aid stuff in this house let alone where it would be. I remembered back to my house, we keep it in a draw in the kitchen. It looked like we landed in the living room, so I walked out the door and searched along the long hallway to the kitchen that was at the end. I walked in and saw nothing, I tried the light switch and surprisingly it worked. The whole room lit up in light and I saw that this kitchen was very small, typical for this size of house. I started going through the draws and found nothing but cutlery and pots, so I moved on to the cupboards and started pulling things out, it looked like no one had raided this house so when Melody’s alright we can take all the stuff we needed. I was losing hope in finding a first aid kit. When I was at the last cupboard that was under the sink I found the little green bag and unzipped it. I pulled various things from it mainly looking for a bandage and some wipes. Got them! I stood up with the whole kit and ran back to Melody. She was lying on the floor where I left her, her skin was so pale she looked dead. I lifted her up and untied her hair and looked for where the blood was coming from. I found the spot on her head and got out a disinfectant wipe and started to clean her wound. Once I had finished I wrapped the bandage around her head and laid her back down, there wasn’t really anything else I could do to help her.
I knew I was going to regret this but I pulled my sleeve up and un-wrapped the piece of material around my bite mark revealing my purple arm. I looked at the bite closely; I couldn’t really see the bite mark at all now. My arm was that badly swollen though it was not hard to move. All my veins were purple and looked as if they were going to pop out of my skin, my arm and hand was practically a different colour, it already looked like it was rotting. I looked around the room and saw a large mirror sitting on the floor cracked, it looked as if it used to hang on the wall. I walked over to it and sat down, I un-buttoned my shirt and pulled it off. I sat and looked at the reflection of my chest in shock, all the way from my arm across my chest I could see all of my veins and my skin was the same awful colour as my arm. I could see that it was travelling along my body and it would be soon that I turned; I looked at my face and I noticed my eyes were bloodshot and yellow. My veins also showed across part of my neck and chin, trying to climb their way onto my face. I couldn’t handle it anymore, so I grabbed another bandage and wrapped it around my arm putting pressure on it to try and make the swelling go down so I could fit my arm back into my shirt. I buttoned my shirt back up, fixed my hair into a pony tail at sat there for a minute. I wondered why it was taking me so long to change, maybe it because I have something to live for. Unlike the others I had to keep Melody safe, because I knew she was special.
sorry that this part is so short :)
