The Apocalypse

I hope you guys like this part because i worked really hard on it :)

I stood up and looked at Rose; she had struggled with her zombie, not used to dealing with them using knives. She was covered in the zombie's blood obviously from where she had struggled with the zombie but at least it was dead. I look behind us and the zombies still hadn't noticed us, good. At least we had a clear path into the building now. "You okay?" I asked Rose because she looked as if she was going to faint. "yeah." She replied continuing to walk towards the building, I jogged up to her so we were walking side by side. I walked up to the doors ahead of Rose and pulled the open, making a loud screeching sound. Shit! I bent down into a crouching position and held the door open for Rose to walk through; she did the same and passed by me. Walking slowly through the corridor I stopped at the corner that we needed go around, I reached in my back pocket and grabbed my mirror out of it and placed it to my left to see the reflection of the corridor. It the tiny mirror I saw the whole corridor packed with zombies. Damn! How are we going to get through this? Umm.. I looked over at Rose and realised that she had seen what I saw in the mirror as well. I mouthed "what are we going to do?" to Rose hopefully she had an idea.

She shook her head, great! Well hopefully the idea I had was going to work because I didn't have a backup plan. I looked at rose and whispered quietly "follow me and kill any that I miss." She nodded at me understanding what I was about to do. I took the two big samurai swords that I have been dying to use out of the handles in my backpack. I hope to god this works! I stood up and turned around the corner seeing all the zombies right in front of me. As soon as I stepped out into the corridor all the zombies seemed to crane their head around in a really un-natural way, sniffing with their noises I presume my flesh. Well here goes! I took off running towards them holding my swords out at my sides swiping the from side to side, as I ran I cut, chopped and slashed my way through the zombies in front of me and any that I did not get my hands on where dealt with by Rose.

Before I knew it I was at the end of the hall, turning around I found Rose battling with one last zombie that I didn't get so I walked up to it a shoved my sword into the back of its head, careful not to push it through too hard otherwise it would of gone through Rose too. Uhh... I was covered in blood again. Oh well.

I looked up from the zombie that had just fallen to the ground by my feet at Rose to see her bent over trying to catch her breath. I patted her on the back to try and comfort her, letting her know that its over. But that didn't help much because she goes and pukes all over the floor, luckily none of it got on my shoes. I looked away not wanting to be sick myself but I ended up looking in the direction of all the zombies that we just ran through and killed, wow. Did I really do that? There must have been at least 15 zombies lying on the ground. I only now think about how these all used to be people too, I wonder how they got infected? "feel better?" I asked Rose as I turned away from the dead infected. "yeah." She said standing up and looking over at me. "we need to get up onto the roofs and then we can carry onto my house tomorrow." I said to Rose noticing that it was quite dark now. "okay." Was all she replied with and followed me down the rest of the hallway towards the reception area. I ducked so whoever and whatever was in the reception could not see us through the window and snuck past activating the automatic doors to open, letting us out. Thankfully they did not make a noise, so nothing was attracted to us as we left. I looked outside and there was no one there, I didn't know whether this was a good or bad thing. There was nothing I could do about it so I just continued with rose next to me walking out of the school. I never realised until now that the school had felt like a prison and I had been stuck there for ages and this is only the end of our 2nd day during the apocalypse. Wow.

Walking out of the giant black gates that were wide open, I wondered what it would be like on the streets. If the school was this bad then the streets must be like 5X worse! I looked to my right and there was a ladder leading to the roof of that building, perfect. Its nothing special but I guess we are going to be spending the night there. I walked over to the ladder and waved to Rose so she would follow and climb up. I looked around, no one on the roof. Good. Thankfully I remembered back in the greenhouse to pack them blankets we used, I pulled them out of my back pack and handed one to Rose. "Get comfy because we are spending the night here." I said to Rose sitting on the hard gravel flooring and laying on my back.

I sat up and looked around, it was really dark but I could see every little detail perfectly. I looked over at Melody sleeping on the ground, twisting and turning in her sleep. Without thinking about it I crawled over to her and looked at her in the face. I don't know what was happening but my mouth was watering and I felt so hungry all of a sudden. Careful not to wake her I stood over her and watched as she slept not knowing what I was about to do to her, I wasn't thinking anymore and before I knew it I was sitting on top of her. I grabbed her head with all the strength I had and bashed it on the ground. She thrashed around underneath me, trying to get away from me and I bashed her head on the hard ground again. I knew she was stronger than me that's why I held her arms down with my legs as I continued to bash her head against the ground. Again and again and again. Eventually she gave in and blood poured from her head and her body went limp, I killed her. What I wasn't expecting to do was bend towards her neck and start biting and ripping pieces of her flesh off and eating it. It tasted so good; I was no longer in control of myself as I sat there continuing to feed on my best friend's corpse.

I shot up from the ground and looked over at melody, what kind of sick dream was that! I can't let her be near me when I turn into one of those things, I don't want to hurt her. But how am I meant to know when that is?
