Chapter 19: Curiosity Kills the Cat

The next morning, Jae Mi visited the orphanage like usual.

She greets Mido then goes for the kids to see Shaerin and Hyori playing with them.

"Eomma!" Penpen shouts as the kids crowded her. She gave them a wholesome hug and proceeded to the ladies whilst Penpen was still clinging to her. She held his hand.

"Annyeong Hyori and Shaerin-eonnie!" She beams giving each of them a hug.

"Annyeong! Wow you look so happy today! Is something up?" Hyori asks smirking.

"No. Nothing at all." Her smile grew wider up to her ears.

"Yah. How can we believe it when your smile is creeping me out." Shaerin speaks making her giggle.

"Well... is it right to tell you?" Jae chortled like a child.

They dragged her to the kids' small table together with Penpen like bunch of fangirls itching for news. "Maybe my eomma already have my appa!" He exclaimed unexpectedly.

"Kids shouldn't know about those things Penpen. Now who told you about that?" Shaerin asked whilst the child looked at Hyori. She whips her head to her sister. "He's a boy anyway. He'll court someone someday!" Hyori defended making them chuckle.

"Go play with them now Penpen. We'll just talk okay?" Jae kisses his cheek and he nods giddily.

"Okay... I think I'm in love?" Jae stated curling the end into a question.

"Jinja?!"

"How?!"

"Does he send electric currents when he touch?"

"Does he give you melting stares?"

"Does he treat you to romantic dates?"

"Does he give romantic gifts?"

The two ranted continuously. She chuckles and heaves a deep breath "No. Just butterflies in the stomach. I mean millions of it.

Yes. Sometimes he does melt me. He stares unreasonably.

Not actually dates. Just a meal out or something.

And No. No romantic stuffs." She breathed out.

"He's my bestfriend actually." and that fact strikes her.

"Well then that's better! You know each other more than yourselves now, right?" Hyori blurts.

"Well not really. Since I think we're feeling the same, we're shy to ask each other. But I guess we'll come to that someday."

"Does he make your heart beat like crazy?" Shaerin's turn.

"Well yeah..." Jae smiles widely.

"Omooo. That's why you're blooming today huh?"

"Am I? Well thanks." She eye smiles.

Kyungsoo. I wonder if I've got the same effect on you.

They continued chatting with each other til it was lunch time and it was Jae Mi's hint to go.

"Wait Jae Mi-ah." Mido called.

"Ah yes ahjumma?"

"How's it going with Kai? I'm not pressuring you or anything. I'm just checking if you've talked to him about it." Mido spoke softly. "Mrs. Jang would be here tomorrow..."

"Oh! Yeah! I totally forgot about that!" She admits. Well, Kyungsoo was all she was thinking about and all she sees everyday. How wouldn't she forget about it?
