After the hours of hard drama from the hospital, Jae Mi walked aimlessly through the highways til miraculously, she reached the streets.

She didn't ride a bus. Because she wanted to reflect and whine up but... it didn't help. She's not sober enough with thousands of thoughts storming inside of her.

She had high chances of getting hit but thank God, she was still alive though she intended to die out of it. She even thought of jumping off a footbridge but she didn't pass any making her smile bitterly. She was staring at nothingness, letting her feet take charge of taking her home, when she decided to look up the morning skies gloomily.

Mom you there? She asked internally making a tear roll down which she wiped immediately.

The moment she set foot out of the hospital, she swore not to cry and leave it all there but seems like she failed. She shook her head as more beads of it started falling.

It was 8 am when she arrived her empty house. That's how it felt like. But she shoved everything away and thought of getting ready again for her mom's immediate cremation.

Yes, she didn't plan admitting her mom to any funeral services because there wouldn't be someone else to visit aside from her. She believes it would cause her to mourn more. It would prevent her from moving on.

Probably, her mom doesn't want that so basically, she's still following her mom's desire for her own good.

She took a bath and slipped herself into a white delicate dress that sleeved fitted on her arms and fell down her knees. Looking at her own mirror reflection, she wore a red lipstick to somehow look pretty for her mom's last farewell. Tucking her hair back on her right ear, she turned around roaming her small room. She plodded to her bed and sat, straightening her flower-embroidered skirt. "Mom." She spoke gazing at her and her mom's picture frame standing on her side table. She held it and brushed the glass boundary using her thumb. She smiled at the sight of her mom smiling pricelessly.

Don't worry mom... I'm your daughter. You made me a fine young woman. I'll do well someday.

"I know you'll always be there to guide me from above." She spoke with a shaky voice whilst nodding. She went to her closet and grabbed her savings to spend it at her mom's cremation expense, as well as some requirements that might be needed, and proceeded to her own purposes.

I'll be strong.

From yesterday morning's mission, the ever-solving detectives now hopelessly worked as they didn't find any useful information from Seo In Ha's business slash best friends.

Bae Jun and Ji Mo didn't mention anything about Daesuk as well because:

First, they already forgot about him as they were savoring the fruitful outcome of their past illegal business (It was still active for how many years even after they killed Jil-Ho. They pursued til they earned enough for having each of their own businesses now.

Second, after that incident, they never heard any news about Daesuk.

And lastly, they concluded that Daesuk has already died, or not, had already fallen down too low that he can never reach them.

Atleast that was what they thought.

Meanwhile as they reported to their chief, Chanyeol slams his fist on his table and abruptly stands up.

"This couldn't be happening! We are the last resort of the crime made because of our individual specialties and still, we haven't made the tiniest progress with those endless investigations! This is so frustrating! UGH!" He threw his hands everwhere out of stress.

"I'm so sorry Chief." Luhan bows his head 90 degrees. It was such a terrible defeat. He was humiliated after reporting.

"Don't worry Luhan. We could ask higher officers to send their own teams. This is already out of our hands. If ever I couldn't convince them, I think they would only leave the crime waiting til another happens that would give another set of clues and hopefully, the possible culprits." Baekhyun consoled and held Chanyeol's shoulder firmly to calm him down.

"The culprit is really skilled. But I don't think this is the end." Sehun glances at Luhan and back to Chanyeol. "Think about it. He wouldn't make his crime spotlessly clean if he's not going to repeat it." Sehun snapped as he thoroughly squeezed the idea out of his head making all heads tilt to his direction.

"That's right! It's like a 70-30 chance!" Tao exclaimed.

As expected. Chanyeol thought smiling internally whilst plopping himself back on his chair. He trusted them right that moment.

"Well if that's the case, then why would we let the higher know if they would also wait for something? Might as well wait and do it ourselves. Besides, we're allowed do so since we're not leaving it unsolved." Baekhyun explains and gazes back to Chanyeol who holds the final decision.

"What Sehun said did make a huge point. I bet the culprit is just taking a break or cooling off a bit with what he had committed to avoid being caught. We need to be extra alert." Kris joined the brainstorming.

"That's it! We need to protect possible targets then and wait for his attack. Who do you think is the next target?" Luhan's eyes lit up with hope.

"His friends." Chanyeol topped.

"Very well then. We should've done this brainstorming earlier before taking too much exhausting actions first. Geez." Baekhyun rubbed his temples in circles. "And why the hell do we speak formally here?! Reminder everyone: We're like friends before even getting this troublesome positions." He blunted making the boys smile.

"Aish you Bacon." Everyone except him, teased in unison as they were used to annoy him with it. They look at each other in tad silence and burst out laughing.

Just then, the atmosphere was at ease, mixed with priceless hearty chuckles and continuous bickering.

Yes they are proffesionals but they are humans too.

It's 5 in the afternoon and Jae Mi was wandering around the seashore near her former cafe. She couldn't feel anything. The grief suddenly washed out of her. She sat on one bench and stared at the view trying to appreciate it. She hugged the heavy marble jar tighter on her arms. It was still hot and fresh.

"The view is so beautiful mom. How I wish I see this with you by my side." And with a snap, tears threathened to fall. Blinking it away she suddenly felt tired. She sighed.

I must go home now. Sorry mom. Give me sometime. Someday I'll let you go here.

Kai also happened to be wandering around too and saw her sitting whilst gazing at the sea. He saw how crestfallen her face was so he plodded to her. He smirked.

Maybe when she got fired she was thrown away by her family as she was useless. Kai thought heartily.

She stands up and walks staring at nothingness when she gets bumped by someone harshly like it was meant to hurt her. She stumbles back but she didn't care as she protected the jar or rather her mother, from meeting the ground. Marbles are fragile and slippy you know.

She slowly looks up and sees an eyesore.

Kai smirks more and fights for the eye-staring contest. This is the first time he saw her up close. Pretty because of the lipstick. And one word popped out: Plainly stressed.

"I know." Jae Mi said, making Kai realize he spoke his thoughts. Well, can't blame him. She really looked like one, if it's for the situation she's facing right now.

She lands her mother carefully on the bench and turns back to Kai.

"AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT YOU INSOLENT DUMBASS."

And she lost it.
