Hello everyone! Today I have another song that I just randomly made up, but unlike other times, this one has a specific inspiration. It's mostly about the nostalgia that's associated with our thoughts of when we were younger or how things used to be, plus our longing for the "good old days". It's a bit short, but I hope you'll like it. Have a look:
Remember those times, back in the golden days,
'fore life got so hard?
Sentimental ways,
(though I still do sometimes)
Guess I haven't changed at all...
Not much different from then and now,
'Til I think of the point where I am
and how,
Seems like those good old days are gone...
Don't you be fooled
It's not sadness you hear in this tune
There's something new
Despite the wish to hit rewind and start again
It's crazy to think about the simple times
Unbidden to color inside of the lines
Oh, how far must we rise and fall
Now and here
Can't help but think I'm forced to look ahead
When all I wanna do
Is drop my guard and take a break instead
6 AM, I'm talkin' weary days
Somehow I know I'll still be okay
I don't mind 'cause in the present, nothing's wrong (nothing's wrong)
*musical interlude*
Sad as it is, you can't wish your troubles away
You just gotta keep on waking up each day
There you go. What did you think? It becomes catchy after a while, but I think it also turned out to be kind of contemplative. In my opinion, the last line holds some really sage advice: You have to keep on going, no matter how bad it gets. If you keep faith and have hope, you'll surely make it through whatever's going on, even if it seems impossible. That's what I think, anyway. What about you guys? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
