"What year is it?!"

Hey there, anyone who's reading this. Life and 2020's been crazy in general so I haven't been on here in a while. At the time of posting this my account says it's 5 years old, which is wild to me. I don't even know if my childhood Webkinz account survived that long.

If there happens to be anyone following me or coming across my profile and wondering about the lack of recent content, I figured I'd clarify. I mean, from my point of view, I've got a handful of works varying in quality and an absolute mountain of comments I've left on stories over the years, which are fun to look back on, but sometimes things feel all over the place.

My dream job has always been to be an author, so I wanted to model myself after successful creators on Wattpad, and imposed a posting schedule on myself that I mentioned somewhere in this book way back when. I had genuine ideas, but I forced myself to write no matter what, even if I didn't have any time left in the day, which is why I spoke of wanting to edit stories like Crush Vision and A Dog Lover's Dream, A Cat Lover's Hell, because they felt rushed to me as a result.

But I'm also a perfectionist, so having extremely high standards from the get-go makes writing a lot more intimidating and a lot less fun, and as I got busier, I had less time to write.

This post is more of a cathartic thing for me than for anyone else, but I appreciate you reading it. I'm trying to remind myself that I'm just a random person on the Internet like everyone else, and that it's not the end of the world if I end up having to prioritize my off-screen life over a virtual writing schedule that I made years ago. I'm gonna try to let myself have fun more, so if you see me on Wattpad in the present day, I'll probably be catching up on stories I haven't finished reading, or just vibing in general.

I hope the rest of your 2020 is safe and non world-exploding.

Cheers!
