Lost in your eyes

The cool wind stings my face as I walk. I pull my coat closer to my body and I see the little cafe up the street. 'Pops Chock'Lit Shop' sounds nice.

The smell of French Fries hits me as I step in.

There aren't a lot of people there, maybe about 10. I smile warmly.

"Hi, may I take your order?" A blonde woman asks me as I look at the menu on the wall

"I'll just a strawberry milkshake, please," I say

"Sure and can I take your name?" She smiles.

"Betty" I wait a minute before my milkshake is made and I sit down at one of the many booths. I reach into my backpack and pull out a book. I sip my drink and begin to read.

The greatest of life's tragedies is when you look your soulmate in the eye and pass them up

It reminds me of why I am here, to this small town, for a fresh start, to be happy. Tears sting my eyes as the memories come back

I don't realize how long I've been there for until I check the time

"8:57" I gotta leave. I collect my things.

I slip my coat on as I walk out the door into the cold air.

I walk with my head down, it's dark out and I can't really see where I'm going.

Suddenly I'm knocked to the ground and the content of my bag is spilled all over the sidewalk.

"Crap. I'm so sorry" I hear a voice say and I see a shadow crouch down and start picking up my things.

I turn my phone's flashlight on and point it at the shadow. "Hey, you're pointing that in my face" The guy laughs.

He looks about my age, he has his black curls tucked under a crown beanie, light blue eyes that you could get lost in and overall he's just really handsome.

"S-sorry" I smile and start to help collect my things.

"Lost in your eyes" He reads out the book title "Sounds nice" He passes it to me

"Thanks" I laugh.

After we finish picking up my things, we both stand back up

"I'm Jughead, by the way," He says. "Betty" I reply.

"This is a weird question but do you go to Riverdale High school?" He asks me.

"I actually start there tomorrow!" I smile.

"What grade are you in?" I sling my bag over my shoulder.

"11, how about you?" He smiles

"Me too. So I'll see you tomorrow?" I pull my phone out quickly.

"Yup! Here" I hand it to him "Put your number in so I can text you"

He puts it in and smiles again

"Ok, so I'll text you later" Jughead hands me back my phone.

"Yup! Bye, Jughead" I start to walk away

"Bye, Betty"

I couldn't stop smiling the rest of the way home.

A/N

Just basically what I thought would happen if they had never met and Betty just moved to Riverdale

Should I do a Part 2?
