"Hi, welcome to the Coffee Garden, what can I get for you today?" I said in an exhausted tone, I'd been working all day. I looked up at the stranger standing in front of me.

"Hey, ill just have a plain black coffee, please" He said politely. He was always wearing that crown beanie. Honestly, I liked it. He came here every week.

"Sure. Can I take your name please?"

"Jughead" It was such a strange and interesting name.

I wrote it on the cup "Awesome. Your coffee will be waiting for you over there" I pointed at the pickup counter.

"Thanks" I watched him walk over.

As I made his coffee, I pulled out my phone and texted Veronica, she was my best friend and just so happened to work here too.

Betty: V!! He's back!!

Veronica: Ooo! The mysterious coffee shop boy returns!

Betty: Yea, well he's back! And his name is Jughead

Veronica: That's such a weird name

Betty: Yea it is, but that's not the point. I like him and I don't know what to do! I've barely talked to him before

Veronica: Talk to him! Go for it Girl!

Betty: Should I really?

Veronica:  Definitely!

Betty: Ok, I'll talk to you later

"Jughead?" I called out when I finished making his coffee

He walked up to me "Hey again" he smiled. He had a nice smile.

"Hi there" I returned his smile, passing him his coffee. Our fingers touched quickly, causing me to blush slightly. "So Jughead, is that a nickname?" I asked, taking Veronica's advice to actually talk to him.

"It's a nickname. I started going by it when I was really young"

I hummed "that's cool"

"So, you know my name but I don't know yours"

"Betty, Betty Cooper"

"Well Betty, you have a pretty name"

"Why thank you" I smiled.

"Where's my coffee?" An older man asked me impatiently.

I turned to the man "it'll be out soon"

"It better be. I'm late for a meeting, girl!"

"Your coffee will be out soon" I repeated. People often talked to me this way. It didn't matter

"Make it now!"

This guy was really rude

"Hey, don't talk to her like that. She's busy" Jughead stood up for me. It felt good to have someone stand up for me.

"What are you, Her boyfriend?" The man said in the same rude tone.

"No, I'm not. You can't talk to her that way"

"She better make my coffee soon!"

"She will. She's busy. She has other customers to make their coffee too"

As Jughead told the man off, I made his coffee. I wanted to just get the man out of here.

"Here" I hand the man his coffee

"Finally!" He said, grabbing the coffee from my hand "the service here is horrible!"

"I'm sorry you feel that way" I said dully, I was used to people talking like this. It didn't matter.

The man left and Jughead turned to me "Why did you let him talk to you like that?"

"I can't really do anything about it. It doesn't really matter" I replied

"I don't like people talking to you like that. You don't deserve it"

I smiled "thanks for standing up for me"

"Of course. I had to. I didn't want him talking to you like that"

"Thanks juggie" the nickname slipped out of my mouth without me thinking

"Juggie?" He asked. Shit, I shouldn't have said that

"It's a nickname, I guess"

"I like it Betts"

"Betts?"

"It's a nickname, I guess" he said, repeating my own words

"I like it"

"So Betts, I was wondering if maybe, you wanted to go out with me?" He asked apprehensively

I was shocked that he actually asked me out but I was quick to reply "Yea, I'd like that"

He smiles widely "Awesome. Well I gotta go but I'll come back later"

"Cool, my shift ends at 6pm" I smiled.

"I'll see you then, Coffee Shop Girl" and with that, he left.

I sighed happily and went back to work.
