"Luke?" I ask "What are you doing here?"

"I have to talk to you." He states and I sigh.

"I'm kind of busy Luke.. " I say pointing to Shania and Calum awkwardly standing behind me.

"Please." He begs and Shania comes over to me.

"We'll be waiting for you in the car." She says as she walks out of the door with Calum close behind her.

"Shania.." I mumble under my breath before turning to Luke. "Yes Luke? What do you need to talk to me about?"

"I'm-" He starts but I quickly stop him.

"You're sorry. I get it. Okay? I'm sorry about a lot of things! I'm sorry you left! I'm sorry that I wasn't perfect enough for you. I'm so so so sorry." I say raising my voice.

"Payton look I'm sorry I made you feel you were the reason I left."

"I am the reason you left!"

"Payton." He says and I look into his eyes trying my hardest to calm down.

"I didn't come back before now because I made deals that could've got you, the boys, or even my mum killed. I was stupid and naïve. I'm sorry. But aren't you the one who says everything happens for a reason?" He asks and I nod slowly looking down at my shoes. "I did not want to leave. I wanted to come back as soon as I told you I was leaving. I didn't want to cause you pain. I never wanted to hurt you. In anyway, Payton I love you. And I know you love me too." He rambles taking my hands.

"Luke.. I do love you. I just I cant just forget anything happened. And besides I have a boyfriend." I tell him removing my hands from his. "I'm sorry Luke.. I really am. Can we just be friends?" I ask and he nods slowly.

"Friends."

I walk down the hallway of Lasie Lake High. The most unfriendly place I have ever met. They push people around and threaten them. Half of the people in this school are vampires. The other half.. Werewolves. And then there's this small percentage are humans. Why do I go here? Well long story short.. my father has connections. Mason falls under the werewolf part. That's why Ash, Calum, and Michael hate him.

"Hey Beautiful." Mason says kissing me on the cheek.

"Hi." I say flashing him a smile.

"What are you doing tonight?" He asks and I shrug.

"I don't know. Nothing important."

"My mum wants to meet you. She asked if you could come over tonight." He tells me and I raise an eyebrow.

"We've been together a year and a half. She hasn't wanted to meet me?"

"She did. I just wanted to wait for the right time."

"Okay.."

"So Luke's back in town I see."

"How in the world do you know that?" I ask and he points down the hall. I follow his finger and it lands right on Luke.

"He is now going to our school." Mason states

"Of course." I say opening my locker getting my books out. To be honest I've been trying to avoid my new 'friend' for the benefit of everyone. Its not as easy as you might think.
