The breeze was flying through my hair as I panted.  My brown shoulder length hair flying behind me when I got into the clearing, finding myself in the middle of the street.  I caught my breath and laughed as I jumped, "we did it dad!  We made it out alive!" I yelled as I smiled looking back, but the only thing missing was my dad.  I gasped not seeing him, "no.." I said softly as I started running back and yelled for my dad.

I saw the crowd of those things as I started to cry.  I fell to my knees with tears flowing from my eyes the the ground.

Later that night, I was sitting in an empty convenient store, curled into a ball with my head leaned against the wall as I cried as I stared aat the wall across from me.  I fell asleep and when I woke up the next morning, I sat there and thought to myself.  I got up and put my bag on my back I checked to see if my gun was loaded.  I looked up and left the store and walked down the street.  I was determined to find my dad and step-mom.  I didn't know if my brother was alive or if my mom or sister was alive and I wanted to know if they were still alive.  I knew they couldn't be that far from me.

I looked around and sighed when I thought about how usless it would be to try and find them, realizing they all might be dead, but I shoved that idea off my shoulder.

I heard distance gun fires and started running towards them.  I pulled my gun out and ran into the forest and found men shooting their guns at the dead, I watched them and they finished killing them.  One of them looked over and saw me and raised their gun at, "come out here! now!" he yelled.

I came out with my hands raised and my guns raised up in the the air as I looked at the three men in fear, "lower the gun man, it's just a kid, " a man says, "a kid with a gun!" the man said loudly and looked to him, "she's a kid, she doesn't know how to use it. " the other man said, "and that's where you're wrong. My dad taught me how to shoot a gun when I was seven." I say shrugging my shoulders like it wasn't that big a deal.

"what's your name kid?" the man says, "Jessica.." I say softly looking at the man, "whats a kid your age doing out here alone?" he asks, "I was separated from my dad yesterday.." I say softly looking at them, "why don't you come join us?  We're building a community and I'd llike you to join.  We'll keep you safe."  He says with a greeting smile, "sure.." I say softly and nods, "I know you feel safer, but I'd need your gun, so we know you wont try anything."  I nodded as I handed them my gun.

Hours passed as we got to a big community that was in the process of being built.  I got out and looked around and saw very few people walking around and others working on the wall.  I looked to the man, "hey, governor, where do you want this?" A woman asks walking up.  He gave instructions as he walked up to me and smiled, "welcome to Woodbury Jessica." He smiled to me.
