What Happens Next

Keep Going

     I felt my eye lids getting light as I slowly opened my eyes and saw a wall.  I moved slightly when I felt arms wrapped around me from behind me.  I smiled a bit as I looked down seeing Carl's arms around my waist and hid face buried into my back.  I smiled more as I put my hand on his arm.  I felt as if I was being pulled closer along with a groan.  I chuckled softly as I looked back a bit and saw him as he moved his face and looked to me.

     I smiled as I turned to face him, "morning," I say softly, "morning," he says back as I kissed his cheek, "you want pancakes?"  I chuckle smiling, "sure," he smiles a bit.  I nod as I sat up and grabbed his hand and kissed his hand as I got out of the bed and ruffled my hair as went downstairs and grabbed stuff to make pancakes with.

     I poured the batter into a pan and grabbed a spatula, "what you doing sweetheart?"  Michonne asks from the other side of the island as I turned and looked at her, "I fell asleep here and I offered Carl if he wanted me to make some pancakes, so I decided to make some for everyone" I chuckle and smile a bit, "did you fall asleep with Carl," she asked as I turned to check the pancakes and looked back as I nodded, "yeah."  I saw Michonne smile as I blushed and laughed, "no, I promise, nothing like that happened," I shook my head, "I don't think I'll be doing anything like that any time soon after all that.." I say softly looking away as I flipped the pancake, "how many do you and Rick want..?" "Two," she replied.

     I finished the pancakes and placed then all on one plate and set the table with the help of Michonne as Rick and Carl came down stairs, "who made breakfast?"  Rick asks as he looked at us, "I did," I smiled a bit, "it smells and looks good," he smiles as Carl walked over around me and sat down after pulling a chair out for me, "thank you," I say to both of them as I smile and sit down.

     Everyone sat down and ate, as I finished I got up and started cleaning up after breakfast.  Carl walked over and helped, "Carl, it's fine, you don't have to," I smile to him, "I know, but you made it, you shouldn't have to clean it too," he says as he put a dish in the drain.  I smile to him as we soon finished as he pulled me into a hug.  I smiled more as I hugged him back, laying my head on his shoulder as he kissed me cheek.

     "I was thinking about going to the Hilltop.." I say looking up to him, "to see Maggie and Glenn?"  He asks as I nod slowly, "yeah," "then let's go, I'll go with you," he smiled a bit as I nodded.

     I went to my house quickly and got changed and brushed my hair and teeth as I put my hair up into a pony tail.  I put on sneakers and put my gun in my holster, now being the only one with a gun because of my dad.

     I looked to Carl, "walking or am I driving?"  I smile to him, "why can't I drive?"  He smiles as he walked up to me, I looked up at him as I moved his hair that was above his bandage, "because," I chuckle as I pecked his lips and went to a car and got in as I shut the door and started driving to the Hilltop.

     I pulled up on the street and stopped the car, turning it off.  I looked over seeing some trucks from the saviors, "doesn't look like any of Negan's trucks," Carl says softly as I looked at him, "are you kidding me..?" I say softly, "what?" He looks back to me, "you want to kill my dad, after I said we didn't have to kill anyone?  I know what you're intention is," I say softly as I lean back in the seat and look forward.  "Jess, listen-" I interrupt him, "no, Carl, I said we didn't have to kill my dad, because we don't, you wouldn't want us killing your dad if it was in the opposite situation," I say looking at him, on the verge of tears.

     It grew silent as I looked forward again.  I started the car back up and pulled it over to the side of the street as I turned it back off and looked to Carl, "Carl.. I don't know what to say or do right now, I know we can get away from him without killing him, and I'm not even worried about you going there and trying to kill my dad because I know you can't because of how guarded the place is, I'm just more worried that they'll kill you instead," I say softly as he looked back to me with his one eye.  "I know you don't want me to kill you're dad, you just found him and everything, but I have to end this before it can get worse," he says softer as he grabbed my hand as I look to him more, "I just don't want you to risk your life for something you don't need to risk it for, I love you Carl.. and I don't want to see you die because of a useless war.." I say softly as I kissed his hand and held it against my chest as I looked down and closed my eyes.

      I was pulled close to him as he pressed his lips against mine passionately.  I didn't expect it but easily melted into it.  He pulled away as we looked at each other, "are you going to go..?" I asked hoping he'd say no as I looked up at him and saw him slowly shake his head.  I smiled a bit as I hugged him the best I could.

     I started the car back up and drove it into the open gates of the Hilltop as I pulled it over and shut the door as Carl got out, "so your dad let you go back to those people huh?"  Simon smiled walking over, "your point?" I ask crossing my arms, "nothing, but how you feeling?  Took some bad shit the other night."  He asked.  I shook my head and walked away, "not your place to ask," I say as I saw Jesus, "hey, where's Maggie and Glenn?" I ask looking up to him, "my trailer, Glenn has been super worried about you.  Are you alright?  He told me everything that happened."  He asks.  I nodded, "I got stitches and they gave me a blood transfusion so, I should be ok," I nod, "I'll see you in a bit though Jesus, I want to go check up on them," I saw him nod as I walked away.

     I went to the trailer and knocked on the door when it was opened and saw Glenn, I smiled as he smiled just as much as he hugged me, "thank god you're ok.." he says softly in my ear, "I'm glad you're ok, how's Maggie and the baby?" I ask looking up at him, "they're ok," he nods looking down at me.  I nod smiling as I looked over and saw Maggie sleeping as Glenn came out and shut the door.

     "So, when did you find out the kid that raped you got you pregnant?" He asked looking down at me, "the same day I took the abortion pills, which was the day that whole shit went down.." I say softly as I looked at him as I put my hands in my pockets, "why did you do that?"  He asks, "do what?  Tackle you to keep the barb wire from bashing into your head?  Glenn, I'm fine, but I sure as hell wasn't going to let that damn barb wire hit you.." I say softly, "you have an unborn kid you have to be here for, a wife, me.. I'm not going to let you leave me... us.. like that," I say as he pulled me into another hug, "how does it look?" he asks as I pulled away and pulled my shirt up showing my stitches as I looked up and saw Carl standing there as me and Glenn talked.

     "Carl and I are together now," I say softly as I looked up to Glenn as he smiles looking at us, "I'm happy for you two," he smiles more, "why don't you two stay here for the night, head back in the morning," Glenn offers.  We nod and smile a bit as he brought us inside.
