It was the day after the BBQ and the day went by fast. It was night and I decided to walk around even though curfew was past. I looked around as I heard something go off, I looked over to smoke filling up the streets and side walks of Woodbury. I kneeled down to hide as I drew my gun and got it ready and saw figures as I started shooting at them. I looked over and saw men running out as they started shooting back at me.

I gasped and hid behind a wall, "the hell are you doing?!" The governor yelled at me as he behind the wall next to me, "there's intruders!" I yell looking at him as if he was crazy, "you'll get the people here spooked!" He yells, "yeah, because the smoke bombs don't worry anyone!" I yelled and shot at the people.

Gun fires kept going, people running and smoke bombs going off. That was it, I had to get out. I ran to my apartment and put my things in my bag along with supplies and things I'd need.

I put my bag on my back and started walking out and hid as I snuck my way out into the night.

Gun fires were still heard in the distance as I looked forward with Woodbury going out sight, never to be seen by my eyes again.

Months passed since the Woodbury attack. I was alone since then, and not that many things came to face me. I had guns in my bag, a knife in my belt and a gun in my holster. I still wanted to find my family, but that was in the back of my mind. Maybe I thought it'd be easier to think they're dead, because that's what was in my mind, that they were dead, and I'd never see them again. Maybe I was OK with that? The thought of them not being in this killing world.

Close behind me, I heard a twig snap. Nearly like a natural instinct, I drew my gun and turned around aiming it at a taller man. He was white with longish blonde hair and blue eyes, he had his gun drawn at me. I heard him chuckle and caused chills to crawl up my spine, I held my gun tight and glared at him, "what's a little girl like you doing out here alone?" He says. I don't know how to describe his voice, but it's not one I've heard before.

"That is none of you buiesness." I say with a sharp glare sent in waves at him, my gun stayed up, ready to do what I need to, "why don't you head back home kid?" He laughed, "shit.. Homes still exist?" I laughed rolling my eyes. He laughed and looked at me with a smirk as he stepped towards me. I stepped back seeing his step forward, "I'd rather you not step close to me.." I say looking at him, "you wouldn't think I'd hurt you? Do you?" He asks, "I don't know who you are." I say scoffing.

During that whole, useless conversation, he suddenly tried to attack me. I shot him in the stomach from flinching as he shot me in the leg. I yelled in pain and fell to he ground as I shot him again, killing him. I crawled away from him a bit as I checked my wound and saw an exist wound. I sighed in relief as I took my knife and cut off half my shirt and tied it around my wound.

Suddenly there was the sound of a gun being cocked behind me. I stopped what i was doing and sat there quietly, "just stay quiet and don't move. We can help you, just don't make any stupid moves." A girls voice said from behind me. I nodded slowly as she told someone to hold the gun at me as she kneeled down and helped tie my ripped shirt around my wound to try and stop the blood, "we can bring you back to where we are, we can help you from there. You just have to stay awake and alive. You've made it this far alone, you can make it a bit farther with people and a wound." The girl says trying to help me to keep going.

She stood up and pulled me to my feet and put our arms around each other and helped me walk.

We got to what looked like an emergency room and I was laid on a bed. The girl walked away saying she was going to find stitches and made sure I had no weapons on me.

A boy my age, who was there with the girl came over and looked at me, "hi.." he says softly and was obviously shy. I smiled faintly and looked at him, "hi." I said softly, "my names Lucas." He says looking at me as a smile formed, "I'm Jessica." I say softly as I looked down seeing the gun in his hand, "sorry.. Kathy wants me to hold it in case you try anything." He says still shy but confident, "is she your older sister?" I ask looking at him. He nodded as she came back with the stitches and needles, "sorry, but this is gonna hurt."  Kathy warned as she dug the needle into my leg.  I gasped and gripped the side of the bed she was on, biting her lower lip from the pain.
