Practice 9

Ali's P.O.V-
It's November 3rd and Sev has been out of the hospital wing for around a week now, fully recovered. He and Jack have been teaching Lola, Sabby, Vi and me many jinxes and hexes that may be useful for us.
"Ali watch your head!" I hear Sev shout as I duck
A spell hits the oil lamp behind me and shatters
"Sabrina what the bloody hell was that! Flick n-not jab!" stammers Sev
"Well sorry I just wanted it to really have some juice!"
"You don't need to jab your wand in order for the spell to have juice. Again."
All of us run to take cover as she starts aiming at the base of a torn down tree. Were in the middle of the Forbidden Forest at the moment so to not accidentally hit anyone in school or damage the property.
"Ali, your turn."
Walking up to the blue line we made in the dirt, I stand firmly gripping my wand and wait for them to tell me which spell to cast
"Are you ready Brown-eyes?" asks Jack as he cautiously sets a thick tree branch down and animates it
"Okay, cast Morsus."
With a whipping motion I say "Morsus" at the jumping branch
Hitting the tree branch dead in its center, almost splitting it in half.
"Very good Ali, you seemed to really want to hurt the tree."
Said Sev
"Well I genuinely want to injure them so it's not hard to imagine Potters head as the branch."
"Haha, well that's good. Alright, Lola, come please."
Going back to take Lolas seat I observe as she gets into position
"Alright Lola, I'll let you choose. Thin, medium or thick target?"
Jack asked with his brow raised.
"....I feel like you're setting me up for something."
"Oh I am. Lexi love would you be a dear and hand me my spellbook?"
"Sure." Going threw his bag I find Merlin's Best Spell Book
"Good, now if you could turn to page 259 for me?"
I open the page to chapter 5 Offensive Spells
"Can you choose a spell for Lola please?"
"Any spell I want?" I ask, surprised that Jack would let me choose
"Yes, you've done extremely well today, you deserve a reward. Do go easy on her though, love."
Blushing I look down and randomly pick a spell for Lola to execute
"Okay, how's the Bat-Bogey hex sound?"
"Brilliant. Lola, point your wand at my nose. You're going to want a direct, firm and precise jab in my direction. You'll want to be really aggressive and tight. Go."
Settling and getting into position she says
"Vespermuco."
Although her posture was perfect her grip was lacking and her wand went flying and the spell didn't hit anyone.
"Fuck!" she exclaims
Sighing Severus said "Well. That was atrocious."
"Sev don't be so harsh, it was her first try." Sabrina defending Lola
"No he's right that was ass. I have to get into the groove."
Getting prepared again she grabs her wand from the ground and sets up again
"Again."
Wearily Jack gets up from a criss-cross position and preps her for a second try
"Alright, you can do this Lolita. Just concentrate and remember; Firm grip."
"Ready."
"Try not to kill anyone..." mumbled Sev
Rolling her eyes she says "Verpermuco!"
Suddenly a bunch of large, black bats come flying out from Jack's nose.
Flinching intensely and waiting for all the bats to finish flying out, he rubs his nose vigorously and says
"And that witches and wizard is how you correctly execute the Bat-Bogey hex."
"Finally, it's a good thing she didn't accidentally shave off your nose, Frayn." skits Sev
"Yes, good thing indeed. Violet, you're up."
Skipping up to the spot she needed to she waits to be assigned a jinx or hex. Looking threw the spell book, Severus says
"Pick up your broom stick lay it on the ground in front of you. Afterward's, secure something difficult to break on it. I'm going to have you try the Hurling hex and I don't want anyone getting hurt."
Following his instructions she sets her backpack on the broom and waits to be told what else to do.
"Now, with a secure but loose grip on your wand, say Iaculatio and wiggle the wand from side to side."
"Iaculatio."
The broom wiggled slightly but it didn't do the intense, mechanical bull type of jerking its supposed to.
"Alright good start, but trying shaking you wand a bit more aggressively."

Sirius' P.O.V-

"Prongs I really don't know how anyone could have figured it out. We can fix it though, so stop being a whiny prat." scolded Moony as he analyzed the second path to the Shrieking Shack with an annoyed look on his face.
"That's not why I'm upset Remus. I'm angry because who in their right mind thought it would be a grand idea to perpetrate anything we've done. Who could have that measure of self-destructive tendencies? Sirius, anyone you could think of???.... And I'm not a prat nor am I whining!"
"Do you think it might have been a professor? Maybe thought it was some kids that wanted to spy on us. I mean he doesn't know about us makin' this, mate." Pete muffled as he at some sweets from Honeydukes.
"A professor would have completely gotten rid of it, not left it in a state of disrepair. No no...this was done by a student. Or multiple students....like a group of roughly 5 or 6 toerags and whores....and Lily. Anyone you can think of Sirius?????"
"Belt up James, nothing's certain. You don't know it was them. And even if it was you don't know if it was Ali or even if it was only one of them. Until we know for certain what happened, were not touching Lexi or any one other then that arse Frayn."
"You just want any opportunity to hurt Frayn because Alexandra fancies him and hates you." giggled Wormtail
"She doesn't fancy him, she's just naturally a flirtatious person and people are drawn to her. And she doesn't hate me she loves me she just doesn't know it yet." I spat
"Sure Paddy, whatever you say." sarcasm is Moony's second language.
"Either way fellas we need to figure out who's done this. And if it's Alexandra and her little group of misfits, they won't be spared. I hope you know where your localities lie Padfoot." proclaimed James like he was announcing a war cry.
