“Dad?” I whispered.
“Violet? Is that you?”
“Dad! Oh my god you have to get me out of here! I’ve been kidnapped by this crazy guy and...and…you have to call the police!”
Tears were running down my cheeks. Omg I’m going to be saved. By my dad. I pushed aside the anger I used to feel towards him. He’s going to save me. If I get out of this place I’ll forgive him for those times he acted like a monster to me. I was bubbling with hope to escape when I heard the line being cut off abruptly.
“What the? Nonono...” I started to panic and started to punch the number of my dad’s cell. It started to ring. I waited for a few seconds for my dad to pick up but he didn’t. I punched in the numbers again and waited desperately for my god damn father to pick it up.
But he didn’t.
The phone continued to ring until I ended the call and threw phone across the room. It slipped through my fingers and smashed when it made contact with the wall.
I ignored the crash I made and laid down on the bed, cooling myself down. However, the tears kept pouring down my cheeks. It was endless. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.
I heard quick footsteps in the hallway. The door opened, revealing Gavin.
“What was that noise?”
Gavin looked at me with worry in his eyes. I was too consumed with emotions to bother answering him. I pointed towards the direction where I threw the phone and looked at him picking it up in his hands and examining the damages. Amusement shone in his eyes when he looked up at me.
“So you found out huh?”
I groaned and turned my body towards the other direction, not in the mood to talk.
“Look, I know it’s hard to know your dad sold you but I’ll help you find a way,” I heard him say as he placed his warm hands on shoulder.
“I WHAT?!!”
I immediately turned towards him and got out of the bed, not believing what I just heard from him. My curiosity was at its peak. He jumped away from me in shock.
“What?” he asked innocently.
“You said I was sold!”
“Yeah shouldn’t you already know by now since you called him and he answered the phone?”
“Nono he didn’t tell me anything. He barely said a thing. All he did was hung up on me.”
“Wait, so you don’t know anything?” he asked again.
“No. What is this all about Gavin? Tell me!” I demanded.
He realised he had just told me something I didn’t know. He paced around the room, arms folded and face flustered pink. It was sexy.
I shook the thought away. What are you thinking? Falling for Gavin, I mean the kidnapper. No I mean my kidnapper. Mine. I mean wait no.
I broke out of my insane reverie when Gavin spoke.
“Okay look. This is going to sound crazy but just listen okay?”
I nodded, finally relieved he’s about to tell me something. He gestured me to sit on the bed and I reluctantly did, not really wanting to be close to him with the freaky thoughts I have of him now.
“I don’t know where to start honestly.” He ran through his hand through his hair.
“Just start with why you were kidnapping me.”
