Chapter 14

For the first time in a few days, I was in public. It was different from the house and apartment I've been in and actually, for the first few days, kept in. I trailed after Gavin after we got out of the car. We came to a building with the heading that said "EastBowling". I snorted, then let out a small laugh. What a name.

"What're you laughing at?" Gavin asked, turning around.

"The name. Seems like people don't have creativity to even make their own names," I pointed at the sign. He followed to the direction that I was pointing towards to. He gave a small chuckle, as though he had thought of an old joke.

"That's what I said the first time I came here. Funny you did the same thing," he announced then went inside, the sliding doors automatically opened. I smiled at that. It was good we were both alike in a few ways. I liked it.

As I walked in I was immediately welcomed with a breeze of cold air. It felt better than the hot temperature outside. I glanced around the whole area while we both waited on line at the counter. There were about 15 slick lanes, most of them were already occupied. It surprised me that such a name for a bowling centre could be so popular.

"I should've known it would be full, today's Sunday," Gavin sighed and again, when frustrated, ran his fingers through his brown hair. My eyes lingered on his hair for a while as a thought came over to my mind. How would his hair feel under my own fingers?

It was just a two second thought though and I managed to threw the question away before I further daydream. As if on cue, my cheeks burned a little. It was a good thing Gavin didn't notice. Whenever he sees the color on my cheeks, he would somehow make that the current topic between us. It will then cause my head to be plunged into lala land, which eventually then make my cheeks redder. Sometimes I became frustrated with my ability to blush easily.

"Well why did you?" I countered.

"To beat your butt and win this game, obviously," he said in a 'duh' tone.

"You know, you never said what would happen if you win, not that I'm saying you will. I just want to know what's on the ogre side," I asked him, recalling no memory of his wish if he wins. Take note I said 'if'.

"Same prize as yours. You'll do anything I want. For a day," he smoothly said.

I gasped," a day? What do you want me to do? Be a maid or something?"

"I never said anything like that. But that's actually not a bad idea. I may also make you wear the maid dresses they show in the movies," hes'd thoughfully," you know what? I think that's a great idea. Thanks Violet."

He gave me cheesy grin. I was about to disagree but was interrupted as we've already reached the counter. I could see Gavin's eyes looked sideways to my direction, amused that I couldn't disagree with me. At the same time we were informed there were no more lanes left, so we had to wait for one to open up. I saw a family almost finishing their game of bowling, so we decided to get our bowling shoe while waiting.

As we wore our bowling shoes, which felt weird to wear, considering hundreds of people would have worn. Just in time, the first lane was cleared.

"C'mon let's go. You type down our names and I'll get the bowling balls," Gavin ordered. I didn't realise he was given permission to order me around but I didn't question him further. I went to they keypad and typed in our names, but stopped when an idea cane into my mind.

I erased Gavin's name and replaced it with Mr Iamgonnalose. I changed mine to 'WINNER'. It was childish, but I liked it.

"There you go, I found one for you. I don't think its too heavy for you, try it," Gavin told has be brought along three bowling balls. I went away from the screen and was given a purple bowling ball. I weighed it on my hand and inserted three fingers in the holes provided. He was right, it wasn't too heavy or too light.
