Tick tock tick tock, was what kept Sakura from sleeping. Plus the thought of Naruto and Sasuke, though the former, she didn't know why. She turned to lay on her left side, looking through the window of the balcony. The moon shone into the room, not bothering Sakura at all.
What was Sasuke going to say? she thought. He had barely spoken to her when he was still in the village, so why did he at the party?
She groaned, and turned again, laying on her stomach. Sakura didn't like that the two boys were occupying her thoughts. Especially Naruto. He was just her idiotic teammate, but he did grow in a way... both mentally and physically. Sakura made a face and thought, maybe not so much mentally....
Sakura stopped moving when she heard a murmur coming from outside. She heard it again, and it sounded like a boy's voice. She slowly got up from her bed, tiptoeing to the balcony. Hesistantly, she looked down and gasped, making the boy look up.
"S-Sasuke-kun?"
His eyes widened for a second, before narrowing them, not sure how to look casual. He jumped up and landed in front of her, a hand behind his back, and smirked at the bedheaded girl.
"Good to see you too, Sakura." He ran his eyes from her head to her toes, with her noticing, realizing she was wearing a nightgown. She quickly turned pink and went to get a robe, ignoring his shameless staring at her body.
"What are you doing here so late?" And why come to me? She thought.
He walked towards her, which she responded to by walking back, until she plopped down on the bed. Sasuke leaned in and Sakura closed her eyes; her heart pounding so loud she was afraid Sasuke could have heard it. She had tried so hard before to get over him, and after he killed his brother, her love for the raven-haired man had broke. But now, she couldn't hold back. She did dream of this for only so long. Sakura felt something soft flick her nose and she peeked through one eye.
The other eye opened when she saw a red rose, and looked up at Sasuke, who still had that smirk on his face."What's this?" She asked, knitting her eyebrows in confusion.
"A rose."
"I know it's a rose Sasuke, but for what?" She couldn't resist rolling her eyes, and he narrowed his eyes at her, making her stiffen.
"You."
A smile grew on her lips. Sasuke was giving a rose, to her? She took it from his hand and her fingers brushed his slightly, making her softly gasp. Sakura twirled the rose around and sniffed it. She placed it on her bed and looked at him.
"Thank you for the rose Sasuke," she smiled, "but you never answered my
question. What are you doing here?"Sasuke let out a sigh and sat down beside her.
"Look, I know you probably hate me and all for leaving, but I'm back now. And I think that's all that matters. I don't want to dwell on the past, and I'm sorry for how I've treated you, Sakura. I really.... missed you..... and everyone else...... forgive me?.." He tried not to cringe while telling Sakura he missed her. He got up and put his hands in his pockets. Looking at Sakura, he furrowed his brows. She was looking down at her hands. She slowly lifted her head.
"Is this true? Are you really sorry? And you're not.. you're not going to leave again?" Sakura struggled to keep in the tears. He hurt Sakura so much and she was too blinded by love to even acknowledge it.
Sasuke licked his lips and nodded, looking away.
Shaking her head in surprise, she rattled her brain, trying to figure out why Sasuke was doing this now, when he's been in the Leaf for a while.
