After Hinata came in his tent, Naruto had trouble falling back to sleep. How could he when your teammate (a beautiful one at that) wakes you up wearing only her undergarments? He was a boy, he couldn't help thinking... thoughts. He sighed and ran his fingers through the blonde spikes on his head.
Today was the day the team was expected to get to the princess. Naruto had been wondering what she looked like. He knew that she had a similar appearance to Hinata, but he really just wanted to see for himself. Straightening out his clothes, his stomach grumbled and Naruto frowned. Looking through his pack, his shoulders slouched when he couldn't find anything. He didn't want to ask the girls for food, not wanting it to be awkward with Hinata, even though it seemed like she didn't notice. Naruto's stomach called out to him again, and he groaned in annoyance, knowing he wouldn't be full of energy without filling himself first. He strolled over to the girls' tent, and heard them talking quietly. Not wanting to hear anymore of their conversations, he quickly entered.
"Naruto!" None of the girls had heard Naruto or felt his chakra, assuming they were very distracted, by talking about him! Ino shook her head at that. "What are you doing here?"
"I..." He looked over to Hinata, who was looking down with her bangs covering her face, unable to see her expression. "I need some food."
Ino raised her eyebrows. "And why don't you have any?"
"I kind of finished them?" He sheepishly laughed. She rolled her eyes and rummaged through her bag.
"Hey Hinata."
Silence filled the air and Ino smirked, continuing to look for food even though she had already spotted a pack of dried fruit. She was glad Naruto had spoken to the Hyuga first, or else she would never have the guts to start a conversation with him, especially if she was still uneasy about the incident, though Ino would've gotten over by it now if it had been her. Not the seeing his abs of course, but almost choking him.
Naruto's eyes were set on Hinata, who muttered out a studdered hello. He didn't want her to feel like she did anything wrong, which she didn't. It was all an accident. He was sweaty, so her hands probably slid when she tried to wake him. He realized at that moment of staring at her-she hadn't changed her clothes. Naruto gulped, and looked away, hoping his face hadn't turned red. He glanced at Ino, who had her eyes fixed on him, and looked down.
"Here you go," Ino cheerily said. She mentally laughed, as she saw how Naruto's state changed from staring at Hinata to suddenly looking away, blushing like there was no tomorrow. How Hinata couldn't see it, she didn't know.
"T-thanks." He opened the pack and shook out a handful, popping them into his mouth. "Sho, a we weady to go?" He struggled to ask.
"Naruto, don't talk with your mouth full," Ino groaned, and was surprised when she heard Hinata stifling a giggle. She gazed over to Naruto, who was trying to swallow the fruit all at once.
"Ahh. Much better! I was trying to ask if we're ready to go," He explained.
Ino sighed. "Guess we should leave now."
Naruto nodded, "Ok!" and ran out.
"He's totally into you."
Hinata's head snapped up, her face full of surprise. She had been looking down, afraid to even peek a glance at Naruto. She didn't know why she was behaving like this if Naruto had been okay with her accidentally almost choking him.
"W-what? Why w-would you say that?"
"Ok, maybe not totally into you, but I know for a fact that he doesn't think you're ugly in any way." She wiggled her eyebrows, and Hinata titled her head.
