61: Meeting Dashed's Family

"Maghunos-dili ka nga, couz! Masisira make up mo niyan, e!" sita sa akin ni Teegan habang inaayos ulit 'yong buhok kong kinulot niya.

Pumikit ako at humugot ng malalim na buntong hininga. I've already met Dashed's parents before, but why do I still feel nervous this time?

I was wearing the couple shirt Dashed bought for us. He said we needed to match today, so he gave it to me yesterday. He made me wear it, so I did. I paired it with my high-waisted jeans and converse.

Si Teegan naman, pinuntahan pa niya ako dito sa bahay para ayusan ako kahit hindi naman na talaga 'yon kailangan.

Maria Clara ka naman kumilos kaya sigurado akong pasok ka sa taste ng parents nun!" she held both my shoulders, as if giving me the encouragement to stay chill and act normal. "Thank you, Teegan," I smiled at her genuinely. It felt like the first time I heard such good motivation from her. "Pero kinakabahan pa rin talaga ako..."

"Hindi naman kita masisisi, couz. Ikaw ba naman mabigyan ng oportunidad na makilala 'yong buong pamilya ng isang nagniningning na si Psalm Dashed Calderón de García, hindi ka nenerbyosin?! Idagdag mo pa 'yong thought na ipapakilala ka niya as his girlfriend! Oh, edi ikaw na!"

Napailing ako at napatawa ng marahan. "You're back to your fangirl mode again, huh?"

"Bwisit kasi ang gwapo ng boyfriend mo!" she laughed while bouncing on her feet.

Tumango ako sa kanya habang nakangiti pa rin. Sabay na rin kaming bumaba. She opened the gate, and we both saw Dashed leaning against his car, obviously waiting for me.

Teegan's reaction was epic when she probably realized we were wearing couple shirts today! At first, I didn't want to step outside the gate, but she pushed me!

God! Ang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko!

"Hi, baby," he said as I approached him. He caressed my cheek before giving me a peck on the lips. Geez. I automatically shut my eyes within a minute. Ang smooth talaga ng lips niya! "You look wonderful."

Parang mas lalo lang yata akong kinabahan sa compliment niyang iyon.

"Dashed..." I called his name.

He nestled his forehead against mine. I could feel his warm breath. Ang bango-bango niya. "Yes, baby?"

"I'm nervous."

He lifted his lips. "You know you shouldn't be."

Hinaplos niya ang mukha ko. Dahan-dahan. It felt as though he was handling diamonds the way he touched me. It felt so good. It felt like living was a pleasure.

"Paano kung hindi nila ako nagustuhan?"

"They can't do anything about our relationship, Bronywn. I love you, and I don't need their opinion."

Muli akong napapikit. Hearing these words from him still felt surreal.

"Heto ba 'yong naramdaman mo noong kaharap mo 'yong family ko?"

I smiled at that, feeling giddy.

"Shall we go, now? Gabi na humihirit ka pa, e." natatawa kong puna.

Ang hirap magpigil ng kilig sa harapan niya!

I heard Teegan's shriek but I just ignored it. Instead, I smiled at Dashed and pinched his cheeks. "I love you too, my CDG."

Kabadong-kabado ako habang naglalakad kaming dalawa ni Dashed sa pasilyo pa lang ng pagkalaki-laki nilang bahay. Bawat katulong nila ay binabati ako. Some of them even commented that Dashed and I looked good and perfect together. I just smiled at them in response.

Even though I wanted to say thank you, I knew I would stutter out of nervousness! Kaya mas minabuti kong tumahimik na lang.

Noong malapit na kami sa dining area kung saan naghihintay ang buong pamilya niya, doon na nanuyo ang lalamunan ko. Heavenly Gods. This is it.

"Bronwyn!" I looked up when I heard a familiar voice. I smiled when I saw Ate She waving at me. Next to her was Dashíon, then Dashíel, and Dashléy. Nasa harapan naman nila ang kanilang Mama at Papa.

Sa sigaw niyang 'yon, lumipad lahat ang tingin nilang lahat sa aming dalawa ni Dashed, particularly sa akin.

"G-Good evening po..." dumiin ang pagkakahawak ko sa braso ni Dashed.

I never thought meeting the family of your loved one could be this nerve-wracking! Noong una ko kasi silang makita, that was only when we were in our fake relationship! Pero ngayon, iba na. Dahil totoo na ito.

Napangiti ako at lumandas ang tingin kay Dashed. I caught him staring at me, too. He hugged me and kissed the top of my head. "Welcome to the family, baby..."

It sounded... so good. Gosh! Kinikilig talaga ako!
